The build will work but i wouldnt run this build. I think you should go full fire if you are looking for dmg. Seem like you are trying to put together a degen build. By doing full fire and use elemental attunement {e} for your elite spot, you will have plenty of energy to spare. Just my 2 cents.

So what if I did this....

(I don't know how the attributes points work... i know how to invest and all, but i don't know the max points, etc.)

hmm, looks to me like an illusion mes imitation degen burn for ele. there is no real need for conjure flame. flare is also not worth it, as the burn is just strong as one flare. rogorts invoc should only be used with e-attune.

if ur looking for something with burn that isnt too heavy on energy, u mite want to try this

1) Mark of Rodgort
2) Mind Burn (E)
3) Immolate
4) Incendiary Bonds
5) Fire Attunement
6) Glyph of Lesser Energy
7) Energy Tap
8) Res Sig or Arcane Ech

that mite work for a solid spike burner. mind burn is the king of burn in my opinion, thought i mite just throw it in to help u out. use it if u want, just a quickly thought up build to try to help u out

Hmmm, if you truly wanted to burninate things... Burning Speed, rush in, then Bed of Coals / Whirlwind. Then Pheonix, Inferno, and Flame Burst.

Then Blood is Power 3-4 times and laugh at your burning, twisted, charred corpse... "exp suicide bomber lfg". Heh.

Hee hee - I had to do that on The Captured Son. I was helping a load of lower levels, and we weren't doing so well. As it happens I had brought a lot of air touch skills with me so, spotting a group of Crimson Skulls all huddles together I used Ride the Lightening > Whirlwind > Lightening Touch > Tenais Wind, and then died. They were all just a few wand bursts away from death but the silly lvl 13s just stood there! I was like "Finish them already...!"

Ah, it takes me back!

looks like you are going for a panic build... ie people see the massive degen and just go into a blind panic.

yes it will probably work but only if they have no hex removal and limited healing.
dont apply burning and conjure phantasm/nightmare at the same time tho for max effect.

i would cast mark of rodgort first then cover with phantom pain then wand away to keep him burning. just as rodgort wears off apply conjure nightmare and carry on wanding.. the damage from your wand is neglible but its something to do while nightmare does its job add conjure flame if you like for a litle extra wand damage. as nightmare wears off hit with phantasm and phantom pain. rinse and repeat until he runs away, dies or kills you

if your opponent is kiting try using iron mist to staple him to the floor... as long as he has mark of rodgort already on him your wand attacks will still set him on fire

I had a problem. Some people started to blind me and now i cant hit them with the fire! i should spam flare or something for backup =P

Just an idea but perhaps replace Conjure Nightmare with another Hex, backfire for casters. This will be a LOT less energy intensive for Phantom Pain to come into play. Fire Attunment is nice but you are only using it for Mark of Rodgort, replace with flare to keep Mark going (when you are unable to wand them).

Mind Burn is a really nice skill to use, just try not to spam it too much due to exhaustion.

If you want ultmate degen and conditioning you might want to try this build i cam up with a while ago. You cause burning, weakness, deep wounds and blind, all you have to do is hex with Fevered dreams, hex with everything else and attack the target with your staff.
everyone around him will have the same condtions. Works well with Virulence and Victory is mine.

Hyprodimus Prime (condition master)


Elementalist/Mesmer
Level: 20

Energy Storage: 10 (9+1)
Fire Magic: 9 (5+4)
Air Magic: 7 (6+1)
Domination Magic: 4
Inspiration Magic: 7
Illusion Magic: 11

- Fevered Dreams [Elite] (Illusion Magic)
For 21 seconds, any time target foe suffers from a new Condition, all nearby foes suffer that Condition as well.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:10

- Blinding Flash (Air Magic)
Target foe is Blinded for 6 seconds.
Energy:15 Cast:0.75 Recharge:4

- Enervating Charge (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 26 lightning damage and suffers from Weakness for 12 seconds. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:8

- Phantom Pain (Illusion Magic)
For 10 seconds, target foe suffers Health degeneration of 2. When Phantom Pain ends, that foe suffers a Deep Wound, lowering that foe's maximum Health by 20% for 16 seconds.

For 60 seconds, you are healed for 317% of the Energy cost each time you cast a Spell.
Energy:10 Cast:0.25 Recharge:5

- Channeling (Inspiration Magic)
For 30 seconds, whenever you cast a Spell, you gain 1 Energy from each foe in the area.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:15

- Shatter Hex (Domination Magic)
Remove a Hex from target ally. If a Hex is removed, foes near that ally take 54 damage.

Neither are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but they do ok and are open to variations.
