Versatile RA build
I love vers builds that you can use on multiple targets, altho I do agree that Me are better when they devote their entire bar to either casters of fighters. I got a little bored tho of nrg denial and interrupts (the two types of universal builds) and so I decided to try an almost PvE approach in RA. It worked very well.
Dom 16
Illusion 8
Inspiration 9
FC Rest
1- Energy Burn
2- Empathy
3- Spirit Shackles
4- Mind Wrack
5- Distortion
6- Energy Drain (E)
7- Shatter Enchantment
8- Res
This is more of a support build. Focusing on one target and expecting to do tons of damage is not rly gonna work. Hex all the fighter classes and just pester casters with nrg denial/chant shatter.
Any suggestions? I know I could probably use some self-heal, maybe toss in Curses and replace MW with PB and spread PB around, or grab Heal Sig. It worked fine as is but we did have a healer, so...

Looks pretty solid to me.
Empathy + Spirit Shackles + Mind Wrack = gg warrior (would be nice to catch in frenzy). I like the Energy Drain as your elite. The best choice for your build imo.
Not much to say really. It looks like it would work well. Cant wait to try it. Have you tried it in AB yet?

man I'm pretty sure I saw someone try out a build just like this in RA, it was against two warriors, a monk and myself (rit). The warriors spiked themselves with frenzy + empathy, SShackles & Mind Wrack, so they were down easily. I had to res them and kill of that mesmer, who actually wasnt too hard to kill since nothing on that build could really affect me, and then we won^^.
This really is a solid build, I'll try it out sometime.

No, I haven't actually, but now that you mentioned it, it probably will work better in AB, since you can drop the Res sig and take some self-heal, which the build is lacking.

Ouch, sounds like happens to me sometimes when I run this. It does need some more survivability to it. Probably will be more stable in AB as Archaic suggested.

For AB I might Drop Shatter Enchantment for Drain Enchantment just to help you manage your energy. I agree a self heal would be the best replacement for the res sig, but Imagine Burden might be nice also to deal with the any melee builds or touch rangers.

I tried the build w/o Empathy and took Heal Sig.
Attributes were something like:
FC - 8 + 1
Domi - 10 + 4
Illu - 7 + 1
Insp - 8 + 1
Tactics - 8
It lasts longer but it's def less damaging. I tried dropping Shatter Chant but found the anti-caster abilities were crippled. I considered dropping Spirit Shacks but its is more spammable than Empathy and way more effective at shutting down fighter prof. I considered dropping MW but it is a perfect cover. Maybe I will try to use PBond instead of MW, and see if that can serve as both heal and cover. I will miss the MW damage which triggers often inbetween Burn, Drain, and Shacks, but least the build will be more stable. Probably it's best to play it as is in AB, and just toss in a self heal instead of the Res Sig, instead of sweating over how to crank a self heal in a RA format build.

Why Hsig? Ether Feast would work better as it allows you to put more attribute points in instead of spreading throughout 5 attributes.

You dont gain much, if you put the points that would go in Tactics elsewhere and Ether Feast is hardly a viable heal. It has 8s recharge. Surely, with 20% fast recharge on either your wand or off-hand, this will be knocked down to some extent, but the healing per second of Heal Sig far outperforms EF. HS is just more spammable and it bypasses hexes like BFire, which are common in RA. I guess what it boils down to is personal preference but I'm not a fan of EF, I'd much rather use HSig or PBond.
