i dont think that the problem is with the update...
are u sure the time u tried it the 2 outposts in morostav area were under kurziks control??
only then the priest is follwing u..

Yes, its under kurzick control, priest doesnt follow you anymore, and he is the target of the foes, so everytime he is the first one to die, and with the new update , I receive a lot of dmg, as all the shield of the game are -physical damage , and Knight armor doesnt work anymore, believe me, a single staff shot of the rit boss, make 20-30 dmg.

I can thankfully confirm that it still works as before, the priest dutifully followed me around as always and wasn't targeted.
Oh, and when you get the Priests Blessing it stays with you even when you die. Which saves me a bit of cash!!

there seems to be a serious problem after the update..only physical dmg in armor and shield makes the solo not possible for me..

You can still pull him =) just did it last night. only problem is damn the nerf made it much harder to stay alive so you have to use your sig more. once i can figure out game cam i'll make a vid of it.

pulling him that far up may be possible. i've had him chase me half way up the hill before but that was AFTER i killed all his cronies.

Did you managed to kill all his cronies solo? Cause is quite impossible, there are 2 rits, 2 monks, 2 earth, 2-3 warriors + Sunreach if I'm not wrong. And they are always together.

First, nice guide and strategy regarding this. I've tried it a few times, and while successful, it was painfully long. The main problems are
1) The Forest wardens put weakness on you, so you do crap for damage a lot of the times.
2) The forest and ranger wardens all have a self heal of some kind, making the fight last that much longer.
3) The damn npc priests heal the the enemies a lot, especially after you've whittled down the mobs to just a few, where they're now taking more damage than you are.
You can deal with three by moving around bit, such that the priests are just within your aggro bubble, but the enemies are outside of their healing range. Then again, they seem to do this off and on, so maybe if you just keep swinging away, eventually they'll stop.
Dealing with 1) and 2) I would suggest a build change. Since you're relying only on warrior skills at the moment, I would suggest a W/N with plague touch and distracting blow. This would also require a zealous sword to keep your energy up. Possibly also consider tiger stance in place of FGJ. The skills I would replace are Pure Strike and Heal Sig(!).
Why heal sig? First, at least whenever I pull the priests, I tend to go slowly so that if I do get into trouble, they can catch up quickly and heal me. This requires watching the radar carefully. Once you notice that they stop following you (can happen if you run away too fast), stop and pull them again. The second reason is that the boss mob groups usually have 1-2 earth wardens. If you're gonna heal sig, that -40 armor means you're probably going to get spiked at some point for 300 or more damage for the combined mob, and the priests aren't going to save you.
As for fighting the boss mobs, it's a good idea to kill everything except the ranger wardens. The damage they do is minimal comparatively, and keeping them around lets them drop laceration, which actually benefits you.
With the update to runes/shields/knights armor, the tanking big mobs becomes tougher, which is why I believe sentinel's armor is a must now for taking on mobs solo.

ok...i am not a lucky person generally in my life, but why is this also happening in game???
I have killed him over 15 times, each run at least 2 hours long, and no drop still for me..Again saying not even once getting in antifarming code.
I can't be over 3-4 hours daily in game cause of working, so i have spend nearly all my time in trying to get that fckign shield..
So, i am quitting this solo, therefore, i have a question to all of you..
Is this possimple for duo run, with only 1 priest and a guildmate monk or another charr? Have anyone else tried it and succeeded??
I would appreciate any help guys..
This shield has become my nightmare and i can't afford buying it and also, i don't want to buy it..

Well, since this is a real interesting topic, a nice shield, and recently got a late bump, I decided to try and solo this myself. So after reading in the topic itself saying that the priest pull no longer worked or was unreliable cuz the priest would die, i gave up on that idea(couldnt pull him anyway).
Then i read that a ranger had done it solo, with bleeding+poison build(aka cripshot), so i decided to try. And after about...forever...i managed to solo Sunreach and have some confirmation on the earlier post about how you can get Sunreach stuck.

Here you can see how far up he's pulled and that he doesnt have a programed path to get back to his spawn point from there, so anyone who manages to get him up this far, gets an easy kill.
Unfortunatly for me, i didn't know this. The screenshoted run there is only happened after i killed everything patroling close to his mob and his mob itself. And yes it took forever. So its possible both ways, you can kill everything and be safe or you can try and pull Sunreach on his own. Hope this inspires more farming of it and the price will go down or someone will find a better way.
