Default best armor set

first of all, sorry for my english.

i am planning to buy FOW armor soon. i dont mind if anyone think it dont looks good.

first i wanted to buy full glad's set, with knight's helm (or boots) but now i heard that knight's absorption is localy, not globaly. ok, i realise that it is not good idea now, maybe it will be better if i buy knight's chest. but that is -3 energy.

if u are buying new armor now, what will it be? what is the best combination and why?

i am 99% PvE warr.

thanks

I have a Sentinel's set with an axe and sword helm and Stonefist gauntlets and a Gladiator's set with Stonefists. I don't consider any one set "best" but rather have armor for the builds that I like to use.

If you don't know what you will be playing then a good "everyday" set may be the 90 AL set, is that Dragons for FoW armor?

Even if you don't use hammers, most skills that cause knockdown benefit from the Stonefist gauntlets.

many people prefer glads. i actually don't know why.... for the +8 total energy. I personally use sentinal's as well...i meet the 13 req. strength and it goes perfectly with my sheild which is a strength req. Sentinal's armor is one of the best combinations in itself, for the really high AL always (100 Al). there are other combinations that COULD help you more, so just look at the forums

Gladiator's used to be undoubtably the best armour in prophecies, it was a choice of +5AL or +7 energy

The new stuff is better, but nothing that IMO offers more benefit.

i would only use glad, if i was running a shock war, so that shock doesnt kill the war's energy in 2 shocks

Yeah, for pvp you want the glads armour for nearly any build. Even adren builds use energy for increased attack speed buffs.

For pve, its up to you. Glads of course still works. For energy skills, good for running too. Berzerkers is good for areas with heavy degen or conditions, lets you live a bit longer, also protects a bit from pve's mobs if they focus fire on you. Sentinals is great for farming non degen mobs. Dreadnoughts is a good general purpose armour since it's got good defence without having to have the high strength req all the time. Legions is also good if you stance alot.

i use this armor setup for EVERY warrior thing i do and works perfectly.

Helm: ascalon
Chest: glads
Hands: platemail
Legs: glads
Boots: platemail

gives you bonus tactics, 25 energy, and some dmg absorption.

Some people fall in love with one weapon type and never change so a single helm works for them. Personally I like all 3 so get a helm for each and at times have had strength and tactics helms as well so could max any one of the attributes.

I don't think it's global anymore.

It's not, sadly.

On the subject of armor, for me it depends on what I plan on doing with it: PvE, PvP, or farming. PvP is Gladiator's for the extra energy. Farming is Ascalon/Knight's for the Damage Reduction. PvE, I haven't quite decided yet. You want armor that applies to everything like in PvP, but you can afford to have it only work in specific circumstances. If you haven't figured it out, I'm talking about Sentinel's/Legionnare's armor. I lean towards Legionnare's myself, as I find it less restricting to be always in Stance than to always have 13 Strength.

good suggestions here but i'll say stick with 1.5k armor for now and wait till night fall. New armor skins are on the way and possibly new stats too. Maybe some new leet armor like FoW....

I use normal droknars platemail, dont usually need energy, not even while droks running However, im saving for 15k dragon or ascalon - I want more looks and respect.

What you use is up to you, what do you do the most? Do you tank? Do you solo farm? Do you use a spike build? Each has different armour uses, so consider what you need the most

i wish they would update the droknars armor crafters so that they would be like the kaineng ones ... each skin would have several "stats" sets. (e.g: Ascalon skin with gladiator mods)

I use full dragons with a Knights fow helm.
The dragons is good all around with 90 def and 100 def against physical.
The Knights helm gives has local absorb, and still room for a rune.
Dyed black the dragons looks great.

I was going to do that, I had a set of Kurzick Sentinels and figured I'd wait until Nightfall to get an alternate set. Of course I saw some energy-heavy no-strength build that I wanted to try out.

I found the Shing Jea armor from Kaineng is a good cheap set as all it takes is cloth and damask and you can farm the materials for damask easy enough in Pongmei and craft your own damask. A low budget but functional alternative for Gladiators armor.

I find that dragon/platemail/wyvern is the best all 'round.
