Default The communist channeler

OKay, a few peopel have been posting channeling builds. 99.9 % of these builds are pure channeling, so i would like to ssuggest mixing up the channeling line with the communing line.

the main problem wiht most channeling builds is that all good spells require a spirit nearby or constant item use + echo. So basicly they are g ood for a 45 second duration and then they have to be quiet for a bit.

Or they have to make sure destruction is up at all times, and destruction itself isnt that good.destruction does 5dps. not soo good.

so my suggestion is to mix somethign that offensive rits lords do with the channeling spells that need spirits nearby.

What i came up with was this.

12+3+1=16communing
12+2= 14 channeling.
3+1= spawning
+ hp or armor staff, up to you, energy is not an issue for this build.survivability is.

painful bond This gets alot of use with rit lords but at rank 4. at rank 14 it does 19 dmg lasts 19 seconds.

Gaze from beyond standerd dmg spell, needs spirit nearby generally about 80-114 dmg in real fighting

spirit burn quick recharge, carful not to stray far from spirits when useing, "in the area" is not a generous amount of space.

essence strike helps a good bit wiht energy while spamming. genrally you dont have to spam long though.

pain we've all been loveing this bad boy after teh buff 32 armor ignroeing dmg and cheap to use. not to mention a 2:30 duration.

bloodsong where would pain be wihtout his 26 dmg buddy. try to stand closest to blood song as it heals it self. making sure the wear and tear dont get to your hard to keep alive wanderlust.

wanderlust this spirit has sooo many uses, all teh way form being able to keep an assn on the floor licking your feet where he should be to laying out that annoying metor casting ele. also adds 19 dmg(painful bond)
to the focus fire.

optional because i've been testing this skill in RA and TA i bring rez sig. howver any fomr of self heal would be excellent. unfortuantly there doesnt seem to be one in the communing chaneling line , except for nightmare weapon. ( lmfao)

Cons- no self heal, it looks liek a big problem at first untill you realize you can cast painfull bond at range and run back through your spirits to avoid unwanted memser, ele and nercro contact. warriso and assans should spend most of their time running towards tehn away from your spirits do they are much less of a problem than you'd think. wanderlust will keep them on the ground for the most part if you stand still.

fellow rits are eww.. try and get wanderlust close to them, also spam your dmg spells at them whenver they try to rush you with dissonace and wanderlust. if they are resto or pure channeling they will go down very quickly.


rangers are a problem if they're disrupt. cast spirits in a safe place always first as a general rule. as long as you don't do the equivilant of warcraft 3 tower rushing with spirits you'll be safe enough form rangers.

Pros- with painfull bond the three spirits do 32+26+19+19+19=115 dmg
this dmg im sure you knwo is armor and enchant ignoreing. it can own any class foolish enough to stay within range and atempt to "tank" your spirits
because on top of the spirit dmg you'll have yours teams and and your own lighting spells.


your channeling spells can be spamed without really ever chekcing for destruction being up. you dont need an item to manage you Energy

see I would never consider taking a communist without more points into Spawning, so that the effect is that you can use one of the spawning skills that might help you live longer.

It's strange though, my build works in opposition to yours, while you're strong against attackers and overextenders, I'm good at picking off soft targets :P.

That's weird though, I could have sworn that there was at least one healing skill among the commuting line, other than restoration... huh...

Your build is really different. Consider using spirit boon strike, if your spirits dont have much life, then this skill will help with that.

i dont have any problems with keeping my spirits alive actaully. If someone does get next to me and start beating on somethign its usually me. true a well placed metor would take out stacked spirits but since there are only 3 spirits i have time to place tehm in a triagle formation or a line depending on the situation. tahnks to the inferior aoe targeting of giuld wars( why they think you want to target one person with a AOE spell is beyond me) metoer only takes out one spirit at most.

and there isnt a heal on the communing line. there needs to be.

well im not only strong against overextrenders, but anything that comes close really.. on numerous occasions i've had a circle of corpses around the location of my spirits, any single target that comes into range and stands still get obliterated.

however I'm happy to find a build that works with my style and actaully uses teh channel line well. i don't like your build ( no offense ithink its a decent build ) because its depends soooo heavly on destruction. you have to be vary careful were you put destruction,

where as my spirits as long as there not close enough to be hit by AOE. secondly my spirit actually DO something
(no offesne again but random 150 non armor ignoreing burst = not cool)

i generally find that i can survive without any heal at all. funny enough, people taht get in range jsut kinda ,.. die. and when wanderlust puts them on their butt i can come in and chain off 4 spells.

KUDOS to your creativeness but it requires alot of carefull timeing and in my experiance you can't really pose much of a threat to warriors / rangers. While my spirits go straight past armor(permit me to brag) and pretty much give the rangers and warriros a good scare.

EDIT: i kinda sound like an A**hole so think of so do come back with critisism as well and relieve my guilt =)

Knowing that you feel guilty is just revenge :P.

But I just took notice of your title, its not supposed to say communist, it should either say Communing Channeller, or Channelling Communer:P. The more appropriate noun for a Communer.... is a Communer :P

In all honesty, our builds would work great together, because I can take out casters, and chase them. It's nice you have spirits at guard, but my attacks come with the innate ability to... move & attack... HA! And correction, Destruction is Armour Ignoring, and Lamentation is Armour ignoring... so burn or scrim me!!! lol.

Oh and um, Echo GfB is perfect against spirits, because I can steal their life and then use it against them :P.

Ya if bee nthinkign of somehow getting a pure rit team together for TA.

i think it would work well because of how strong it would be defensively and how deceptivly powerful it would be offensively, and also the rits excellent ability to control areas/ choke points and what not. also spells requireing spirits nearby for condition removal such as mend body and sould would work excellently. one of the best nuke heals (spirit transfer) would have infinate supply of ammo.

so somethign like a
pure channeler
pure resto
pure offensive spirits ( maybe another displacement so as to double displacement)
pure defensive spirits. your classic rit lord.

what do you think. it would defenantly have enough staying power. dfensively
resiliant wepon + recuperation have an awsome 21 sec+ of 9 regen, which helps alot vs degen builds. also rank sixteen painful bond and 5 spirits attacking would be O_O

think we should start a thread and get people interested?
