Default Protective Spirit counters?

What do you people do when you come across a monk/player with this?.

The enchant removals skills are on 20-25s cooldowns while this is on a 5s cooldown.
When an enemy starts casting this, its like its time to sit down and wait for death :/.

If you are really worried by that .. why not use your secondary class? /me for shatter ... /ne for rend enchants ? i dont know ...

Like I said in my op, the enchantment removal skills from me/ne are on long cooldowns, far longer than PS.
The only skills that could just about beat PS are shatter storm and lingering curse which are both elites... and even they arent that effective.

Im talking casual TA/RA here, not tombs where you could have 1 player dedicated to enchant removal for spikes.

prot spirit>elementalists. always has been, always will be. however, there's no reason why in TA you couldn't bring a mesmer with shatter for spikes.

Actually, I was part of a TA build that had so much firepower, we basically tore through PS without the need to remove it...

10 hit combo ftw!!

You can use the spammable spells like Flare and Stone Daggers to tear through PS. There rly isnt much point in using anything else, unless- like Terra Xin said- there is enough damage on the team to more than compensate for PS. Keep the Monk disabled with KD, interrupts, Daze, or whatever else handy and PS suddenly isnt much of a big deal.

Oh, and to your Prot Spirit problem...why not try Gale'ing the monks, or just be a nice little Elly and spam Heal Party/Blinding Flash/Snares?

Ah, and Gale the target too. If you have a partner Elly (secondary or primary).
