Default Ether Prodigy Bugged?

I was doing missions with a friend, and we noticed, that prot spirit doesn't effect the damage dealt upon the end of Ether Prodigy. Is it supposed to be this way?

yea, I think its right that way. PS doesn't reduce damage that you do to yourself. Like say if you had PS on you and you use BiP you'd still sac 33%.

It remains one of the most overpowered energy boosters in the game. If they nerf it, ele might never see gvg again

Second Wind is about as good, it's just more fiddly, learn to use it.

At 9 or 10 E-Storage, Ether Prodigy gives 23 or 25 energy each cast. Long run you can use it every 30s, so that's 23/25 every 30s.

At 9 or 10 E-Storage, Second Wind allows you to maintain your exhaustion at ~50% which means ~30 energy. You're getting back 30ish for a cast of 5, netting you 25 energy every 30s. Sound similar to ether prodigy? The net energy numbers are about the same, they just h ave different drawbacks. Shattering an ether prodigy can really hurt if the elementalist is at high energy, you can't do that to wind, but wind is easily interupted and requires fiddly maintenance of exhaustion.

as long as you don't use gale second wind is a wonderful skill. And yes ubermancer, it might be different to prodigy but it can net a lot more energy. It doesn't hurt you, you can use it in NR tranq builds, you get the energy instantly (pros and cons, but on the whole more pros) but you can't use it around the flag stand if they use rangers (but then you have problems with prod if there are mesmers).

Simply it rocks.

And whats this fiddly about exhaustion? just use it every 30 seconds, and you're set. If you don't need to use it every 30 seconds as an ele, you're either A) shit, or B) you've won
