I've been trying to find the place to buy armor that looks like this...

anyone have any idea where to get it?

That would be crystal desert collector armor in prophecies. I don't know if you can get an armor crafter in factions that gives the same appearance though.

You get it out by amnoon oasis/ augury rock/ many other places from collectors.

Any collector, even pre-sear will give that armor skin in prophecies.

In factions, right outside Vizunah Foregin IIRC past a few jade brotherhood mobs a guy crafts what's called Krytan Armor, which is essentially the same thing as the prophecies collector armor. But with the krytan version, you can get stuff like druids, sentry, drakescale, etc, that the collector guys don't give out.

You are correct, that is where I got my mask on my ranger, you have to fight to get to the armorer but that is where it is.
