Default Ranger advice.

I need some advice on what the best and most effective build to do good damage with a ranger would be.

As in, what class would do best crossed w/ a Ranger.

Just in general. I want a ranger to deal a lot more damage then it does now. I'm currently doing R/Me, it's OK, but not what I want. It seems Ranger does not do enough damage.

Rangers aren't gimped at all. I did great damage on my R/Mo and I could have done the same or more on a R/E if I would have found a firey bow string.

Rangers are pure support. You've got some interrupting shots for shutting down casters, you can pin teh casters when they're on the go, and they can get in some high raw dps. (Barrage FTW!) Some other fun skills are throw dirt, which is immensely useful as an AoE. All sorts of other really fun things you can do as support. And nobody shoosts you because they think you're worthless. Don't underestimate the ranger.

I have my ranger coupled with a Mesmer for energy management. The rest of my skills are marks / expert.
