Ive been level 17 in pre before. It takes a while

I use a ranger, because I have a pre-order Ithas Bow. Monks are near neccessary until you can start being able to solo Charr (around level 16

), because Healing Breeze is simply *awesome*. This was before the AOE AI ner--- update, but I always used Ignite Arrows + Dual Shot. I would gather up all the mobs outside of Ranik, then chew through them whenever I needed cash. Never got any black dye (got two one beta weekend, though) but I did get enough to pay for fully dyed black presear collectors armor.

It was pretty bitchin. =)

That shield probably dropped off of a Charr boss. Such a shield is godly in pre, and I would infact pay decent money (post sear, no presear character atm, but that will soon change again

) to get it. Ive never seen any golds drop in pre, but purples there are rarer then golds are in post
