as see you don't want to run any where to extreme i think it would be possiable to make a Ranger runner my Ranger is lvl 18 with a Monk secondary she can most likey run to yaks and possiable farthure then that. it all about the Ranger skills. off the top of my head i would say.
whirling def
dodge
escape(elite)
lightning reflexes
as far as secondary profession i'm a monk so i filled the rest of my bar with quick heals like.
healing hands(elite) seeing you can only have one elite on at a time you have to choose.
protective spirt
mending
healing breeze
that would be your best bet of making a R/Mo runner but seeing that you can't run as fast as a worrier there but i think it would get you there alive.
arrive alive kids thats the saying.
so i hope you can work something out of my two cents.

Might sound odd, but I often have barbed trap on my R/W runner; it can help on some areas, you can pull the mob out of a cave entry for example into your trap then easily zip by them. Fun way to get the speed edge you need, especially vs foes that use speed boosts of their own - being fast doesn't always cut it; being able to slow them down AND move fast does. I don't bother with monk skills generally, but I tend to do easier runs I guess; for a tough enough run it's probably worth the heals, but more often the Charge and Balanced Stance are what I really want.

i would stay r/w and run this set-up
1.escape
2.dodge
3.stormchaser
4.lighting reflexes
5.whirling/sprint
6.endure pain
7.troll
Can pretty much run anywhere, with sprint in there and a maxed out expertise you can run for almost 45+ secs Rangers FTW!!!!!!!!

I ran my ranger by himself at level 8, using only the skills up to yaks in order to get to Borlis. If you can't figure it out, maybe you should keep trying ^_~!
Just remember a few things: Stances don't stack, they cancel eacother out. Ranger have so many evadign stances, it's not even funny, just use a bunch of htem to minimize downtime. Also, don't be afraid to stop and recouperate every now and then.

i just use es escape, dodge, stormchaser, and troll
with ws and expertise at 14 each, i use escape, then dodge when escape ends, and then stormchaser while waiting for escape to recharge.
using only the 3 running skills i can run almost anywhere and keep at least 1 stance active

When I run with my Ranger, I run something similar to Iceman2's build, Storm Chaser, Dodge, Escape, and Troll Ungent. And, he's right, with those three skills, and the right amount of Expertise/Wilderness, you can keep up a running stane permanently.
If you wanna run from Becon's to Drok's, IMO you'd need a Warrior for your secondary because you NEED Balanced Stance. Trouble is, you should also get something to help with Helth Degen and Hexes. So, I guess you'd need something like:
Melandru's Resiliance {E}, Storm Chaser, Dodge, Sprint, Rush, Troll Ungent, Whirling Defense, Balanced Stance
And something like 13-16 in both Expertise and Wilderness (16 in Wilderness, as that's more important here). And a damage reduction type mod, like a Stance Shield (don't need the attribute to get the bonus). And a massive pile of 1337 5ki11z0r5.

One "technique" which i believe no one mentioned here is using the spirit Quickening Zephyr. It is uniquely suited to rangers because it is in the primary profession, and with expertise there should be no real energy problems using it.
One would put it up before running into a mob; if you use a skill such as Escape right before you run in, you can halve the recharge and essentially get yourself ~30 seconds under the stance Escape.

I've done a duo with a warrior on the beacons to droks run. There was one point where I had 1hp because of the damned deep wound. Rangers can run the droks thing, but its not practical as you'll probably die more often than a warrior running it.

Charge! + Balanced Stance + Dodge + Stormchaser + Sprint could run anywhere very quickly. Charge and Balanced are essential for the droknar run.

With a 12 Expertise and a 16 WS, I can continually run using Dodge and Stormchaser. It's been quite handy running through all those Avicara to get to the juicy Icy Dragon Sword Imps. Got 2 IDS on my first run with 2 guildies, and got another on my third run.

This thread looks like it has some more ideas with a few specific builds. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=96923
You're right though, there aren't many discussions out there, but there are a number of good ranger runners. Keep trying things and hopefully your patience may reward you.
As to tips, this may be slightly off the topic but this is a very very detailed guide on running to Droknars forge, but you'll just have to insert [ranger running skills] instead of [warrior running skills]

Awesome, thanks tons! Didnt expect much replies. Well now my ranger is lvl 15 working on droknars armor. Ill have to cap escape soon, or get a friend to help.. Really helped me out a ton, plus I made it to borlis pass untouched. Gonna try some harder runs and see how it goes.
Thanks again.

While Escape is nice, the best elite for running IMO is Oath Shot: Oh No, I hit a skill too soon/got smacked out of a stance/whatever bad thing that can happen, and I need a skill that's recharging. Tap C, make sure you have LOS, then hit the Oath Shot. Recharges all your skills (except Oath Shot itself).

i'm an r/mo and the build I use is
Dodge
Escape {E}
Storm Chaser
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Troll Unguent
Mending
Healing Breeze
Sometimes I might swap mending out for Shielding Hands, but I don't really need to. I got a full set of amnoons druids armor and can easily do yaks runs, but I haven't tried goin for beacon's yet.

It all depends on what your doing. If your trying to make money the Droks run, imo is overated. I do runs for tips from Bergen to Beetletun and for Droks to Port Sledge and out of the goodness of their hearts people give me up to 1k for a 7 and under minute run.
