Their drops tend to suck, so unless you are power levelling or need skill point, the higher level mob means nothing.

Actualy they do;

I got an assortment of fellblades from there,
and well, half the gold and purples from the desert
are not even max. dude, at least when i get a gold
from a lvl 24 tundra giant, its maxed with almost perfect mods/bonuses

I have farmed in the desert, more then enough, i am well aware of
whats in it, and well, most are always useless and not worth selling.
yes, actualy, lvl of the monsters do a difference, which is why UW
FoW exist. And dont give me that: "its for shards and ectos" lot more
poeple are after items mainly only found in there that only lvl 26 or higher
mobs will drop.

Bragging you can use a w/mo to farm isn't really saying much.

I wish the non-monk classes can brag about soloing. They're out there, but they're far too quiet when compared to the "I'm a w/mo that solos the universe!" people...

I use W/N and I've posted my farming griphon build a few times already. Used against melee only mobs for the most part but I'm certain 100% can kill 3x faster than a smite warrior build. Don't know about other class types though...

Perhaps I'll post a W/X non-monk build farming thread??

Nah...

Hmm...almost all my gold an purple drops from the desert are max. What I typically get from the trolls is exactly what the text in your picture states....a lot of nothing.

The only thing different about the FoW and UW weapons is appearance. Ex.) You get a max damage Chaos axe instead. They will typically sell for more, but they are no better that some golds I have found in the desert. If you get better drops outside of Forge/Rancor, keep farming them....I don't.

kvndoom,

One question about the Hydras. How do you get them to circle you? They are ele and cast as soon as you agro. Do you just use balanced stance to group them or do you agro as many as you can and then Dolyak so you don't get knocked down?

Dolyak works more magic than you think.

Hydras are melee fighters who happen to cast fire spells. They also can't be knocked down, which works to your benefit when you cast Shield of Judgement, because you don't have to wait for them to stand back up and attack again. They just keep on pecking away, doing 0 damage per melee attack but taking 41 themselves.

To be honest, you will be best off without balth's spirit... you get en from bonetti's (which you will be under all the time except for glads), so you can use that skill slot for a second smite skill (SoW). Also, you might want to trade off vig. spirit for live vicariously. The only downside is the live vicariously does not give you hp when you miss, so minotaurs with wary stance on will not give u hp. You should not have any problem with this though if your equipment is good. Also, take an elemental dmg mod instead of vampiric if you plan on having your axe do dmg.

My collection:

well.. clearly you've been wasting your time, 5mins is WAY too long ,i had 2 people to time me and they both gave me about 2:50-3:00 /per run. and 3 mins to enchent and collect griffons? no way, 2mins MAX

Do you use sprint? I do sometimes and the griffons can keep up but you loose the minotaurs.

Good job! Awesome that you varied it, went with tactics, and got the same results. That's what I mean, study the skills, make it work for you! Heck, sooner or later someone's gonna take the core of what I came up with and make it work even better than what I have. And I'll be proud of the person who does. I like seeing you guys get creative. Kills bugs dead!

Let me see your build solo 8 Hydras at once in Skyward Reach

, or 8 Sand Drakes in Diviner's Ascent

(yeah that's 6 but I've done more), or 10 devourers in Thirsty River (I'll have to get some screenies of that I suppose), then I'll be impressed with it. Every W/Mo build I've seen so far has the same fundamental flaw. Guys are missing the forest for the trees.
I like your style knvdoom can you tell me which skills your are using

Let's put it this way. +54 armor 90% of the time, reduces Fireball, Meteor, Aftershock, etc, to less than 30 damage each. Really, that's pretty much putting it on a silver platter for you.

And look up the joke Sean Penn told at the end of the movie "Colors." That's my philosophy on desert farming, contrary to many who do it.

Nice tips.

Anyone who knocks kvndoom is just a hater, plain and simple.

I personally like to sprint away from the rockshots. But now, this has opened my eyes. I'll start tweaking my build, and see if I can come up with something against them. Gonna have to cap SoJ, though.

I can do 3 hydras, but can't seem to get more around me because they seem to be pretty spread out and I move slow (for some reason).

I can also solo wurms to farm for shells, but this really isn't very profitable because they only drop shells 1 out of every 4 times or so.

man u need to wake up most w/mo builds can farm all minators and grifons in the south-east area of prophets path at once, just like mine ummm i can take about 10-15 minator + 20-30 grifons well realy as much as i can gather due to the spawn count so on lucky spawns i get to kill 45 enemies

NOW THATS POWER FARMING!
