Default Water Ele

For a change of pace

16 water
13 energy storage

20/20 water staff +5 energy w/ 20% longer enchant

skills:
Ether Prodigy (E)
Swirling Aura
Water Attunement
Frozen Burst
Ice Spear
Ice Spikes
Deep Freeze
Rez Sig

Strategy:
When they clump up, cast all the AoE spells. When arrows start raining, cast Swirling Aura. When you get to 5 energy, use Ether Prodigy. Anything else, spam Ice Spear

Results:
Very good, went on a couple 5+ win streaks in CA, have yet to try it in TA.

I usually do something along the lines of:

Elemental Attunement [Elite]- This basically solves all of your energy problems as long as its up!
Armor of Mist- I find it better than swirling aura because it applies to all damage types, not just arrows and magical projectiles. Plus, you move faster, whats better than that? It also provides a nice cover enchant for Ele attune.
Blurred Vision- perhaps one of the most underated skills in the game, 50% chance for foe to miss with an attack for 21 secs? I'll take it...
Ice Prison- easy, throw it on a war or a fleeing monk, have fun, but make sure to cover this hex with something else
Ice Spikes- nice AoE slow, and you dont have to get up in there with frozen burst.
Shard Storm-The fastest cast and the fastest recharge of all the snares I use. I usually use this as a cover hex or in emergencies
Ice Spear-a nice spammable spell, especially on soft targets. The only problem is you have to get close
Rez Sig

As for frozen burst, it has a fast cast, and the snare lasts longer (11 secs I believe), but being an ele I just prefer to keep my distance in most cases, so I normally wont bring that skill. I look at it like this, if I get killed by a war or something, then I'm not doing my job because he shouldnt have gotten close enough to me in the first place!

I'd bring Water Trident as your elite to pvp, ALWAYS (that is unless you're specifically bringing Ward vs. Harm). It's just too good. Anyways, drop swirling aura (crap), and bring something like Blurred Vision. Also, drop Deep Freeze and bring Maelstrom (or both if you want, and drop swirling for maelstrom).

Spamming Ice spear isn't very smart. Water ele's aren't about damage, they're about the utility they can provide with snares, interrupts, and massive hexing.
