Exclamation R/Mo Farming!

Me and a new found friend have been trying out skills and different builds and I think I have cracked it!

Skills:

Zealot's Fire
Symbol of Wrath
Balthazaar's Aura
Balthazaar's Spirit
Serpent's Quickness
Reversal of Fortitude
Sheilding Hands
Mark of Protection{Elite}

Attributes:

Protection - 9
Smithing - 12
Wilderness Survival - 6 - +1 with a rune.
Expertise - 9 - +1 with a rune

Armour:

FULL druid's armour set from Drankor's Forge.

Weapon:

Flint's Flescleaver (It has +15 energy) - or anything with a high +energy amount should do.

Now for the Farming!

1) OK, First of use Balthazaar's Spirit. Then use Zealot's Fire and wait for your energy to atleast get up to 40.

2) Run into the drake's and when they are coming around you use Balthazaar's Aura then Symbol of Wrath.

3) Use Serpents quicknees.

4a) Use reversal of Fortitude a few times.
4b) Use Mark of Protection.

5) Use Sheilding Hands.

6) Use Symbol + Balthazaar's Aura as they are done.

This works for me when killing 7 Drakes! IF you are killing 4+ drakes then Mark might have to be used at the start so damage is stopped and your health goes up to full.

Where it says b and a. They can be used in either order, if you have 15 energy its best to use Mark of Protection first though - If your dying.

Me farming 5 Drakes...

Drake Farming!

Best of luck to all you who use this. May take some getting use to. I will now go try kill them damned minotaur ^^

I have killed 5 minotaur so far with this build and I have yet to try kill more than that.

Please credit me if spreading this.

I hope that you Rangers love this! I noticed there were no guides on it so I would make one for us Rangers to use

NOTE: Sorry for the file name. I have no webspace of my own so its hosted at a site

I used Fraps free version to take the video (Which they make clear :P)

All that makes any farming build is the Monk bit. When someone comes up with a non monk farming build - i'll pay more attention.

Congrats on this build though, sounds promising. Which drakes by the way?

Thanks, its mostly Monk but it works doesnt it? The whole purpose in it is just that it works for a Ranger in which case it means you dont have to make some new character to farm.

The Drakes are East out of Elona Reach then go South.

Thanks anyway guys

No, the fix to zealots requires it to target an ally, yourself included. Heal Party...no go, doesn't target. Zealots...doesn't set itself off. Guardian does though.

its too bad my guy fights 15+ monsters at once + a scroll of 3X XP

over 7K xp in a 2 min run

Build fixing time... You gunnna be the 55 build
Mark of Prot < Prot Spirit
Zealots Fire < Shield Of Judgement
Reversal of Fortune < Healing Breeze

The Drakes are at Elona Reach go out East then go South.

I can take out Griffons (Only just tried 3 today - I did manage it quite easily) and I havnt tried Mountain Trolls yet.

D.E.V.i.A.N.C.E,

I dont get why you are saying to change them skills to that? The whole point is that you use Zealot's then spam Reversal - Which makes you gain health + do damage. Protective Bond I dont think would work as many monsters dont do over 50 damage (Its not a build that uses Superior runes). Then there is no point in the Sheild.

To be honest I think its fine the way it is If I can take out 6+ Hydras so quick then the build must be fine?

Thanks anyway ^^.

no offence to u its a great thought but a build like this has been around for a bit. i used it before rancor got nerfed. i used it to solo 15+ griffons at a time tho

cool that u use it tho it makes rangers fun.

I have a R/Mo friend who farms using EoE. The only monk spell he uses is Symbol of Wrath. The rest is Ranger stuff. He kills about 20 grawl outside Port Sledge in 30 seconds, including run time and putting up his edge.

This one kills Drakes etc though very fast.

Been around for a while? Are you talking about a monk build? Apparently its like a monk build i've been told.

Silly Ranger - what people are trying to tell you is that this is not a Ranger farming build, as there's only one Ranger skill used. All your skill bar is Monk skills. The build used would be more effective as Mo/Ra. My friend's build, which uses 7 Ranger skills and 1 Monk skill works better as a Ra/Mo.

uhhhh..........A true Ranger farming build would involve traps. But if your trying to solo farm, monk skills are really the way to go. Ranger trapping is good, but not as fast as a solo monk. Monk primary would have been a better choice since you can take advantage of the monk runes.

Ah. I see what you mean.

But what would this topic be called then? Ranger Smiting build?

Yes, Monk would of been better as a primary BUT this is why I did this:

-Easy use.
-Cheaper than most Monk builds.
-Means you dont have to spend ages on creating a new character.
-It works.

The one in bold is the main point.

Most people dont have the time to start a new character and complete the game over again so this doesnt waste lots of your time. My Monk friend spent 50K on his monk and I have spent about 3K on mine - That 3K was spent on buying skills (The Yakslapper I found myself. So to me it cost nothing).

They are the main points on why this build is great for a Ranger. It may not be "Ranger" as such but if im using it with a Ranger surely it still is Ranger Farming?

I know a few things that would make this easier for you. Experiment if you like.

Replace Mark of Protection with Shield of Judgment (elite), which you can cap in mineral springs.

Reversal of Fortune are okay, but maybe try setting a Dust Trap, pull the drakes to the trap to blind them (you stand on the trap), and throw a healing breeze on yourself before they get there. You could drop Zealots Fire for Protective Spirit, since Shield of Judgement will do more damage + knockdown. Even if you dont have the superior monk runes to drop your hp, protective spirit will still do its job long enough to keep you alive, just recast it before it runs out. You could also you blind or dryders before the dust trap wears off to increase the length of blinding on the drakes. Just food for thought

Edit: You will only need to use the shield of judgement if blind wears off to give you moments of time to heal yourself or cast smiting spells. dont cast shield with blinding spells, lol.
