Yes, IDS are getting more rare every day. A.net has been a pain lately (alot). But I heard from someone that they will handout IDS on Winterdays which is I dunno not today. But It will most likely be customize just for you. I like to do this run alot because of the small challenge and slaughter fest of the Ice Imps( revenge fomr lorinars pass). Do you guys have trouble getting throguth Tasca's Demise?, I can finish the rest of Tasca's guide if you guys need it, so tell me if you do.

Well, thats a workable build I guess. However, Elemental Resistance would be more effective, since Mantra of Frost takes effect after damage reduction, where Elemental Resistance is an armor boost and is calculated in before absorbsion. Shields Up! Seems a little excessive, but since my elite is currently Charge!, I'm not one to talk.
15 Tactics is way too mich imho. Shields Up! while nice, is simply not needed. The mobs that are a threat do not contain enough Ferices to warent 15 Tactics for Shields Up! I would suggest after runes to have:
11 Strength
14 Axe/Sword (10 or 11 without the sup runed axe helm on)
11-12 Tactics
The key in Tasca's Demise is to avoid Seige Ice Golems. They weill screw you over. If you get within sight of the end, and see a non-moving pack of heritics, don't worry, you'll get far enough to let you spawn at the shrine near mineral springs. You brought your Lieutent's Helm, right?
The 1k is simply not nessacary, as you shouldn't have problems doing the run with a DP, or at 0%. Candycanes are cheaper for removing DP ;D
Oh, and lastly, try using a Crimson Carpace Shield. Elemental Resistance is a stance, and will trigger the -2 damage. Very handy.

The only reason I have Sheilds up in there is because I didnt want to think of bringing something else. Many runs I havnt brought it, Instead of sheilds I brought Flurry. So the Elemental ResistANCe is better eh?

Kill them. Wise first. It's actually safer to pull em out and then attack. So bring a longbow.

Definitely better, but the lowered physical resist hurts against trolls. Still no prob tho.

Yeah I have been solo farming for about a day and a half and no drops. The first day they dropped all over. Very odd I would tend to agree with the decreased drop rate.
As far as Tasca's goes make sure you wait for the Ice golems group to leave before the last strecth they will walk by. You only have to run close enough to the res shrine be ressed then you can usually make it to the end. A lot of the time the spawn is good enough that you can run all the way with no DP. If you do have problems with heretics (i.e. crippling anguish + conjure phantasm) bring endure pain. This will give you the extra seconds needed to get to the res shrine.

Tasca's Demise
This is the path I take, it always works for me I don't know if the spawns I awlays get are always different for you. But here it goes.
First Exit out into Tasca's Demise and head right around the cornor.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...osterx/Ta1.jpg
When you pass the Resurections shrine you can do two things to the group of Dwarves heading toward you.
1. Run past them
2: Hide in this spot:->
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...osterx/Ta2.jpg
When the group of Dwarves have past you Sneak aroudn the Shrine and head down the path. When you get to an intersection there should be a group of Dwarves and Dolyaks.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...osterx/Ta3.jpg
run straight throught them. Stop to heal if needed. There is a bridge that your can cross, but there is two entrances to it. The first one is
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...rx/BRIDGE1.jpg
Don't take the first path, you will get stuck by the group below the bridge (glitch) Take the second enterance
-second enterance
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...terx/Path2.jpg
Past the bridge there should be a group with an Ice Siege Golem heretic and some dwarves
, if you try to run through it you will have crippling Anguish and deep freeze along with some necro moves and you will die.
So wait for that group to turn left (your view)
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...sterx/turn.jpg
Then just run the rest of the way to the portal.
Ill try to get a video of this and or a whole run so all people can see it in action.

Kind sir, it sounds to me as if today was your first day hunting the for-some-elusive-for-others-bountiful IDS. Please, come back after three days of fruitless searching and share your opinions with us. Fortunately before I went postal and starting shooting at random moving objects I had two drop for me tonight . . .

I take hexbreaker, it makes it easier to get past those 2 areas where they cast Crippling Anguish on you. Or you could bring shatter or inspired hex.
I have soloed the whole area twice, duoed it 7 times. We have gotten ONE drop in all that time - not mine. Sigh.
I really hope that's true about all getting an IDS on WintersDay - a personalized one. That would be way cool and that's all I need - I'm not looking to farm these (God I hate farming), but I DO want that glowy sword!

The Avicar+imps togeather is a sort of rare spawn "sorta". When there are Avicara and Ice imps what your going to do it try to lure the Ice Imps back with out attracting the Avicara, Kill the Imps and you CAN fight the Avicara but its harder. You can run past the Avicara too.

I tried this build but I ws always dying either from getting 50 thousand Heretics just before MS entrance or from gettingele boss in tunnel. I finally modify the build for my liking and when I get to entrance of cave I get a bunch of avicara just before hiting the imps. When the spawns where finally in my favor I got an IDS from the imps. took me 2 days.
