Expertise 12
Widerness Survival 12
Marksman 10
Weapon: Feiry Eternal Bow fire dmg 15-28
Skill Bar
1: poison Arrow
2: Distracting Shot
3: Dodge
4: Storm Chaser
5: Troll Ungent
6: whirling Defense
7: Dryders defense
This build is very fluid i just have it set this way because i was trying to farm for an ids with a build sugested on this forum..all these folks were talking about how great success they had solo farming for ids with there ranger builds... so i decided to try the build mentioned above and not only did i get my ass handed to me....I GOT MY ASS.. handed to me...i did make it pass some enimies..but when you get to ice golems SURROUNDED BY THOSE BIRD DUDES. i dont care how badass you are, running through just wont cut it cause they will freeze your ass and the mob will rape you right there on the ground...now i did not blame the build maker.. i blame myself.. i must suck, or im a noob, or some other flame that i see on these forums everyday..anyways. they key point here is that i realized short of farming for char in piken...i cannot solo shit.. THIS IS THE GRAND LEVEL 20 THAT I SPENT SO MUCH TIME GETTING TO..i hear these stories and it pisses me off.. i have looked at and tried alot of solo farming builds for my necro and my ranger....NONE have worked on a level such as the ids route.. This is my first post..im not the type of player that comes on here and asks questions about a ton of stupid shit like " where can i find the coal" or " what is the "perfect" solo build....im just asking for a little help with my build so i can maybee think about soloing somthing other than char and level 3 shit..thank you for your time

Looks like you just ran into some bad spawns. Don't ever fight a Avicara mob and Ice golem/Imp mob together. That's just... no. x_X
That, and you're not using any Mesmer secondaries. If you're going for IDSes and you're not a 55 monk, then you NEED to use either Mantra of Frost or Elemental Resistence. Since those are stances, that throws out Whirling and Dryders. Just use whatever then.
Also, don't expect that once you have the build ready to go, that you'll be the best solo farmer ever. Practice makes perfect, so keep at it.

I do understand that but i also have to argue.. not only is it IMPOSSIBLE to avoid running into the ice golems and some other form of creature in that run.. i didnt even make it to the ice golem ice imp mix... i made it to the bridge..and in the instructions in these forums it tells you to swing far right then up at an angle... look at the map this person drew for reference..the thread name is Kassad's IDS Ranger/Mes Farmer.. anyway.. when you swing far right you run into a mob of like 10 bad guys.. 3 ice golems the rest are dwarves and riders or whatever... and like in the instructions i tried to go through... I tried this ten times or so.. the monsters at that part were the same every time i rezoned. and the result was the same.. i get a spell cast on me that totally slows me down.. and then within a few seconds im dead.. im at a loss for words on how to discribe my fustration.. i mean look at that post.. all it is is people who have had success.. I have also changed my skillset and attribute points to mach those in Kassad's IDS Ranger/Mes Farmer Post exactly..

I think I understand what you're trying to say... In Tasca's Demise, if you get a bad spawn in which the second to last mob of Heretics is spread out and in your way, I just let them kill me. You'll get rezed past them to continue on your way. If the DP bothers you, eat a Candy Cane.
And if you're running into Siege Ice Golems then you're doing it wrong. Avoid them. Wait for them to turn the corner...

Its only difficult until you get to the portal or the spawn near the portal to mineral springs. Avoid Siege Ice Golems, take your time and skirt around them or just let them leave. Groups with Heretics in them have to be avoided completely, its unlikely you'll survive after a Crippling Anguish. Once you get to the spawn point it doesnt matter if you die, the portal is right next to it.
Once you're in Mineral Springs its a lot easier. Now there are two routes to get to the imp cave. Kassad's route goes all the way up and then turns east, my route takes you along the path you have to traverse for the Defend Droknars quest and has the benefit of being near a spawn point. There are three dangers on this part of the run.
1) Avicara Fierces: A large group of Fierces will kill you unless you use Dodge, if you try to run past them using Storm Chaser you will probably die.
2) Some Avicara elementalist boss: Spawns randomly on either of the routes and is a major pain in the ass because he uses Iron Mist. If you do get hit by Mist, use Elemental Resistance or Mantra of Frost immediately and hit Dodge when you see the status icon start to blink.
3) Tundra Giants: This is only if you take my route, aggroing more than 3 is dangerous as they use Giant Stomp. Not that difficult to avoid though.
When you make it near the cave, there is sometimes a group of Avicara at the entrance. Get past them before you engage any Ice Imps or Golems. Now, on to killing the imps themselves. Equip a Longbow or Flatbow, press C to target the closest imp and press Space to fire an arrow at it. Dont worry unless more than one Imp enters your aggro bubble. Ideally, all of the imps should just be wanding you as you poison them to death however usually at least one of them will walk up to you and start using spells.
Have Troll Unguent up at all times and interrupt Ice Spikes on the Imp that enters your aggro bubble. Get rid of that Imp and the others are easy. If a Mountain Troll attacks you, Poison it and use Whirling Defense. Whirling Defense will kill the Troll in seconds if you have enough Imps attacking you.
Lastly, bring Candy Canes. Sometimes you get stuck for a while during the run because of a badly placed mob, candy canes give you more room for little mistakes.
Edit: Typos ftw
