You can get this skill by completing the Caravan In Trouble quest.

I've seen many players use this skill to stop fleeing monks or any other enemy but my favorite use is to have my ally warrior save my ass. As a Mesmer/Monk I get targeted quickly so all I have to do is let my buddies know that I'm being chased.

Yup thats also the tactics used by my guild having 3 knockdown and cripple warriors, one focusing on disabling warriors to protect monks and the other 2 to disable monks and spellcasters alike.

This is a pretty fun skill. I like putting it on prot monks who think they can take the damage. You can almost see the suprise when the they start to limp a few feet and stop as if they are calling their crippled condition XD

A very effective skill, indeed.

Hehe i find it works well with a variety of other skills such as knockdown/ interrupt skills that way spells such as mending cant be cast so easily... and healing can be prevented for lil longer

yah this is a good one for the arena expecialy cause the last one is always dumb enough to run i had to chase a guy down for 12 minutes to kill him the coward (he had no reason to run he didnt have rez so it wasnt tactical) before i had this now they run the moment they see me hahahahahhahaha

You think 12 minutes is a long time? I've ran a guy down for 30 minutes before me and the rest of my party decided to sit down in one area and let him come to us. We all went afk for about an hour and the guy hadn't moved. Another hour goes by and we decide to go kill him. Suprisingly, he wasn't afk and kept running. This was the skill that stopped him. =D (Don't ask why we were chasing him down for so long, we just didn't want him to get an easy win.)

Cripple a monk may not be the best. It is easily removed with one mouseclick. Cripple other targets might work better. But it's situational.

This skill is only useful in pvp. In pve it is fairly useless.
