Default Favourite CA builds.

You cant beat the Tmbs for excitement, you can't beat GVG for satisfaction..but you hust can't beat the Competition arenas for good, clean fun. Here I've comprised a list of my five favourite builds to use in this bastion of epic incompetence. The word 'favourite' is key here,as these are by no means the most efficient or effective builds, just the most fun to play imho.

(5)W/Mo(Yes,W/Mo,stop laughing at the back..)
Attributes:
Axe Mastery:11+1+3=15
Smiting:10
The rest in strength,i think it comes to about 9 with a Minor Rune.

Equipment:Full Glads armour,Zealous Axe of Enchanting.

Skills:Eviserate(e)
Executioners Strike
Axe Rake
Sprint
Frenzy(yes,frenzy in CA..)
Judges Insight
Strength of Honour
Mend Ailment
Rez(of course)

This build is trumped by the standard W/E,as it lacks the snaring/interrupting abilities of gale.It also lacks any self heal, which leaves a lot to chance in CA.But with JI,you can rack up some pretty impressive damage, especially when sprinting after kiters, and frenzy with a zealous haft provides an effecient energy engine for JI. A resonable build at best, put packs a surprising punch compared to most wammos..

(4)N/Me
Attributes:
Curses:10+3+1= 14
Domination: 10
Soul Reaping:8+1=9(I think)

Equipment:Full Scar Pattern energy set,Insightful Accursed Staff of Fortitude.

Skills:Spiteful Spirit(e)
Empathy
Insiduous Parasite
Enfeeble
Soul Barbs
Wastrels Worry
Backfire
Parasitic Bond
Rez

A build that works entirely off the idiocy of others. You see that W/Mo with Mending,a Fiery Dragon Sword and Knight's Armour?Put SS on him,and be 90%sure he'll bring his whole team crashing down around him.Stack Empathy,Insiduous and Enfeeble on him and he'll continue swinging away like nothing's wrong.Similarly,a shocking number of casters still try casting through the mediocre Backfire.Wastrels is for those clever folks who won't play along with your hexes, and Parisitic Bond is for minor self heal. Some might say I'd be better off with Shatter Delusions insted of Wastrel's,for spiking and immediate healing, but i satnd by my decision..

(3)Me/N (It's an old skool frag/virulence build, and yes,I know its rubbish since the nerf)

Attributes:
Illusion :12+3+1=16
Domination:11+3 =14
Rest in Fast Casting, around 6 with minor rune.

Equipment:Full Enchanters energy set,Insightful Illusion Staff of Fortitude.

Skills:
Fragility
Phantom Pain
Shatter Delusions
Virulence
Energy Burn
Shatter Enchantment
Illusion of Weakness
Rez

This is a hilarious build, since once the original spike is over, you'll be waiting the rest of the fight for your energy to regen again so you can repeat it.However, the amount of damage it can do is still scary, especially with Burn and Shatter, and its worth using just to see(well, read) the reactions of mending wammos who hit the floor before they land one hit.The smart man would probably drop a point in Illusion and Domination, put it into Inspiration and take Drain Enchantment instead of Illusion of Weakness to give the build a semblance of energy management, but hey...

(2)N/R

Attributes:
Death Magic :11+3+1=15
Beast mastery : 12
Soul Reaping :6+1 =7(I think)

Equipment:Scar Pattern for Energy on chest,,hands, and legs, with Bloodstained Boots,Insightful Dead Staff of Enchanting.

Skills:Edge of Extinction
Tainted Flesh
Rotting flesh
Putrid Explosion
Well of the Profane
Death Nova
Charm Animal
Rez

This build is perfect for CA,as the worse your teammates are,the better(well, sometimes). It also leaves a great deal to chance.Tainted protects your teammates, while Rotting Flesh spreds the disease to non melee chars. When you see someone close to death, cast death nova, when they die cast purid..then BOOM! EoE bombs,if your lucky you die,if not you lose. This build has a great 'wff? z0mg hax!!' factor since half the people in the arena dont know what eoe does. Even better, the spirit has never once been attacked to this date, allowing the build to run as planned. Many would say that a pethas no place in the build, but i dont like that 12 BM goin to waste, and anyway,he can serve as a useful litle bomb..and this is hardly a serious build.Unbelivebly,i once racked up 18 consecutive wins in CA th TA wit this uild..which says a lot about the opposition.

(1)N/W

Attributes:
Curses 12+3+1= 16
Soul Reaping:12+1=13

Equipment:Scar Pattern,Insightful Accursed Staff of fortitude,Axe as second weapon.

Skills:
Spiteful Spirit(e)
Insiduous Parasite
Desecrate Enchantments
Faintheartedness
Rend Enchantments
Wild Blow
Weaken Armour
Rez
In what other PVP arenas but CA would you find 55 monks, warriors who do no damage but wont die and won't quit, and earth eles with no attacks but 8 armour buffs..In GW,griefers are every bit as loved as paedophiles, granny bashers and heroin dealers. This build is inferior to most cursers, its warrior secondary is badly used, and it has no self heal..but it kills griefers. So,Mr 55 monk, you thought itd be fun to come here with your 'invivcible' build? Let's see how long you lat when your enchantments get rended.Ditto to you Mr. earth ele, shame on you for tryin to grief us. And you, 0 weapon mastery w/mo,you thought your 'G0dly tank' was unstoppable? All of a sudden your bonettis is gone, mending, live vicariously, vigourous spirit and breeze are rent, your dolyak signet is made redundant by weaken armour..and your left sad and alone,a shadow of your former self.Since this is a spiteful build, I thought it fitting to take SS,and faintheatedness serves as a fairly spammable minor degen. This is a fairly poor build in most circumsatnces, but when you come across a griefer it's so..so..sweet..

Feel free to share your favourite CA builds..and please, for the love of god someone reply to this..I put my heart and soul into it.

nice post roy.. it's true that when u're bored, CA is the place to go..

i personally love to bring my m/n with signet of midnight and plague touch. It's so fun to see warriors swinging wildly at you but nothing hits..makes me feel like dancing..

N/W

14 curses (sup curses and tat)
11 Sword
10 tactics
2 soul reaping 1 + minor

Sever Artery
Gash
Hamstring
Flurry
ViM
Wild Blow
Spinal Shivers
Rez Sig

This build is a BLAST to play, esp. against casters and rangers...
Spinal your target, run in with Hamstring, go into flurry...
Sever and gash when they pop up, ViM when all 3 conditions are applied - keeps your energy up, and continue til target drops.
wild blow makes sure that rangers and wars or monks with a /w don't pull bonetti's or whirling, and eats distortion alive. The energy in this build is T-I-G-H-T, but works well if you don't screw up. Spinal will cost you 5 energy everytime you interrupt with it. Make sure your sword has an Icy hilt, and take a necro curse focus for the energy. Tattoos make things a little easier in the energy dept, but i've pulled this build off succesfully with bonelace.
