Question Is Mo/R a better runner then W/Mo?

Recently a friend of mine bought a runner to run places in the Silverpeaks; he told me a Mo/R ran him and I was kinda surprised. He paid 20k to run 4 places and was forbidden to watch. I have people ran me before too, missions, etc. and they are very open to us watching. Well, I'll be glad to show off if I can do something like this.

This has aroused my curiousity. Is this such a uber running built that he's so protective against?

I hope someone can help post some built here so everyone can try it out. I've been ran by R/W, W/Mo before but Monk? Interesting ...

So what kept your friend from watching?

The primary reason in the Southern Shiverpeaks (non-Drok's run) to have a Mo/R run you is the skill Spellbreaker. With no need to worry about physical knockdown, monks are able to use Spellbreaker to shrug off the large quantity of movement reducing spells from Ice Imps and Golems. The only knockdowns in those parts of the Peaks are from the Water Trident spells spammed from the Golems.

Hate to say thats the big secret on the monk build for the Southern Shiver Peaks.

No Psychicla knockdown because you are running at 33%? Or is there some other logic behind it. Seems to me that you would be eaten by wurms

What worms?

Besides the at Lornar's and Dreadnought's Drift, you can go from Droks, to Ice Caves of Sorrow, to Deldrimor War Camp, to Granite Citadel, to Copperhammer, to Iron Mines of Moladune, to Thunderhead Keep (don't know why somebody would want to go there), to Marhan Grotto without encountering a single solitary worm.

If there are worms out there, I must be avoiding them or not doing those runs often enough.

Lol ... funny question. The Runner of course. My friend said he beg him, sweet talk him, whatever he can do, but he said: "stay here, make sure you don't die otherwise I won't run you!"

And I was like, WUT? Paid 20k and cannot even watch? Most of the time I'm lucky to have helpful warriors running me free for most of my new characters, and sometime I do pay for runners & I didn't paid that much & I'm allow to watch. So what's the big deal with this person running?

You paid 20K for a run? That is disgusting. 20K should get you from Ascalon to Droks, through Sanctum Cay, to all 3 Missions in the desert at the very least.

Ok. I found it in Guru again!!!

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=85549

Honestly, is not just knowing the built, no big deal in letting people know the built or watching you run cause it need practise, you gotta know the timing, cues, best route, etc. It'll only make you look more 'Elite' if people watch ya.

And honestly who can make it out of Lornars Pass 5 times in a row w/o dying?

Running like farming is part of the fun thing to do in game if you are not doing it for money. I saw threads here with some people doing it for free even willing to teach for free, whew, how cool.

Start by doing a simple run. Warcamp > Citadel

I have not try this myself but I'm sure this can be done with a Monk. Will post again if I made it.

i run the southern shivers with my w/mo and my mo/r.. there are sections that are definitely easier and have a higher rate of success with a mo/r, and also the other way around in other areas.

i do droks runs with my w/mo and copperhammer to iron mines.. all the rest i run with my monk

but this was a southern shiverpeak run which is extrememly overpriced some ppl pay outrageous prices for runs to grotto since they are going there to buy 15k armour so they already have plenty of cash.

For Example
I can charge 3k for a run from warcamp to granite
3k Granite to Copper
Those are practically the only runs i do with a mo/r but one i figure out copper -> irons then i'll be doing a lot more running

BTW thx Angel for linking to my thread

Im still having trouble soloing copper to iron mines with a mo/r could anyone please show me how?

Nope I didn't pay for the run. I don't need help since my 2nd character. My friend did. I'm offline and he's kinda desperate so he hired a runner. Hmmm ... he should have waited and save himself 20k.

I'm not a pro runner, I don't charge people, I run as and when I feel like it and when someone ask for help. I do know 2 other better runners, they taught me stuff then I practise on my own. They did it free on a leisure basis too. I can now run everywhere with R/W or W/Mo comfortably except some places in Southern Silverpeak.

And Gildor, u r welcome, thanks for putting up that thread. Running straight from Drok's to Copperhammer/Ironmines or vice versa is a very challenging one indeed. Good luck and I hope we can get some help here.
