Ascension Build for 14-16ish lvl Mo/W
ok, sorry for taking up space on this forum, you probaly think im n00b but whateevr, i had problem yesterday tryn to beat my doppler with a lvl 16 mo/w, so through some though i made up a build that i based off of my guild leader's way of beating doppler and the way to beat doppler according to www.gamefaq.com tutorial, i tried all those ways and none of them works, so here is the way i beat him,
didn want anyone else going through the trouble like i did hearing thesame ole bs like "BRING HEALING BREEZE, DOPPLER NEVER USES THAT!" oh yes he does lol he does use it when i got him down to quarter health he healed himself with breeze i shoulda Screenied it just to prove it. but here is the build i came up with to beat doppler at lvl 16 using monk and warrior skills
The skills were:
life attunement
frenzy
holy wrath
severe artery
bonetti's defense
reversal of fortune
balthazar's spirit
healing breeze
here was my attributes:
Healing Prayers - 5
Protection Prayers - 2
Divine Favor - 5
Sword Mastery - 11
Items
Amnoon Oasis Tattoo armor
Brut Sword 15-22 damage req 7 swordmanship
Healing Anhk +8 energy req 5 healing prayers
the way this build worked is i cast balthazar's spirit first and then cast healing breeze and step on the last stone and start to fight him during the fight i just keep re applying: Healing Breeze, Reversal of Fortune, and Bonetti's Defense over and over to keep me alive
I did severe artery occasionaly to make his life go down
the Frenzy, Holy Wrath, and Life attunement made him take more damage, give less damage, and drained him off his mana so that he cant heal himself like i had trouble with earlier(me and him were at a equalibrium state of the fight where we couldn kill each other because we both kept casting healing breeze and reversal of fortune). this build might have been done before but i sure as hell didn see one like it that helped me earlier so this goes out to you partialy low level Mo/W having trouble ascending like i did and couldn find any help or ideas to kill doppler

Search: Key Word(s): doppleganger
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t=doppleganger
One of the easiest searches ever yet nobody does it. If you read that thread you'd understand that the Monk doppleganger doesn't use Healing Breeze if you just melee/wand him.

Personally, I would try melee plus a decent amount in healing to power breeze up. 2 skills should be all that's required (or even 1 if you only take breeze)
You don't have to take all 8 skills, you know.

Bring a sword, and the following skills:
Frenzy
Reposte
Deadly Reposte
For Great Justice!
Don't bring any monk skills. You can bring other sword skills if you want, doesn't matter. Put all your points into tactics (this should be at 12 or higher) and sword. Run up to him right away and use reposte, for great justice, then attack with your sword. Keep putting up reposte/deadly reposte whenever you have the chance. Never use frenzy.

there was no need for all this no bring no skills thing, i filled my whole skill bar up with partly useful skills and slaughtered him under 1 minute without barely losing any health, i actually kept almost a full health bar effortlessly as he withered away and died, it worked bout like a griffon farming w/mo, so i duno, i just wanted to do something unique and use a full set of skills on the bar lol

I did this with my level 13 Mo/W by taking frenzy only and just hit him with a sword, and all my skill points on swords.

I did it in 10 seconds with my level 14 monk/warrior, on a first try.
Smiting Skills:
Bane Signet
Banish
Retribution
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Frenzy
Frenzy's there for doppleganger to use. For me he used it at the same time when battle started.
Smite his ass with Bane Signet and then Banish + Symbol of Wrath (cast retribution BEFORE you enter his cave).
He will be dead within seconds.

First time I killed him, I brought every Smiting nuke I had. I died a split second before he did, but my Symbol of Wrath killed me.

He used Breeze because you put a degen on him with Sever Artery. Breeze + retribution is all anyone with "monk" needs then just attack normally and use breeze as needed. Add skills like frenzy to make him take even more damage.
