Default Ranger Monk suvivalist damage dealer

Hi, first off, this my first time playing Gw, i love it, and i am a Ranger/Monk. In the past before i got to the point in the game im at now (the mission before you gotta capture the pedestals from the mantle) most of the party's i were in had 1-2 monks always. Maybe this was just luck, but anyways. The past 4 missions/group quests/PUG's ive done, i have somewhat played the role of half monk, due to lack of monks and sometimes lack of tanks.

However, monk is only my secondary profession, and i do not like playing a full monk, i like to kill things =).

Anyways, this is the skill line-up i have going. I like the idea of being a damage dealer but being able to switch to an effective healer without losing too much combat effectiveness....

Read the Wind
Judge's Insight
Dual Shot
Pentrating Attack
Healing Springs
Troll Ungent
Restore Life

As you can see from the skills i chosen, i do have the ability to kill somewhat effectively, however, it seems that lately, i have been doing ALOT of rez-ing, im taliking about playing with players who dont understand "retreat" and i end up having to rez the entire party in the middle of a mob and get us out of a sticky situation. Perhaps again, this is just luck, or lack there of, but i kind of like being the last player and being able to rez and heal everyone and turn the tides =)

So two questions, is this the BEST combination for a Ranger/Monk to play the role i want to? Am i able to increase combat damage without losing too much healing possibilites? I like using Troll + Springs if im 1v1 and i have to "semi-tank", so i think that works nice, but any suggestions? (oh yea and does the pentrating attack bonus stack?)

How about: Springs + Pin down , the ability to stop an enemy running at me while im trying to rez, seems like a good idea, but i lose out on troll, which could be a problem

Anyways, any builds that can give me an independent combat effective healer/surviver would be appreciated, again, i am new, so all advice you give me will help me GREATLY! =) thanx!

Pretty nice but ditch restore life for res signet.
I made a similar build a few months ago..
Judges Insight
Penetrating
Dual
Melandrus Arrows
and whatevr skills

I think the armor penetration stacks..but only like 32%

EDIT: Oh this is pve...oh yeah nice. Dont ditch res life for res signet :P

Only 7 skills listed, I'd bring an interrupt for the 8th. I assume you are not far enough in for an elite.

Are you finding JI to be worth the time spent casting it and its duration + the investment in smiting for the damage? You are essentially using 2 "preps" so that is a lot of time spent prepping and not attacking. How bout dropping JI for a spirit?

Favorable Winds - Nature Ritual
Create a level 1-8 Spirit. For creatures within its range, arrows move twice as fast as normal and strike for +6 damage. This Spirit dies after 30-126 seconds.

Get Rebirth to replace Restore to pull the dead allies out from the mobs and eliminate the need for the cripple.
