Some Ranger builds. I would appreciate some suggestion and comment.
Hello !
I’ve just construct these builds according to different topics I read and I would really appreciate any suggestions you might have.
I have a Ranger/Monk L20 but I don’t have access to Elite skill located on the Fire Island, yet. Also, my other character is a Monk and currently the only one we have in our group so I try to keep that in mind while building my Ranger. Unless we find a Monk or take an Henchie, the healing job will be spread out among myself, the Me/Mo and the Ne/Me.
The other build I would really like to make is one for soloing with my Ranger (and stay alive) so if you happen to have some suggestion, they’ll be welcome. So far, I would guess that the best build for soloing is a mix between traps and poison, with some evasion so I may just try to tweak my trapping build a bit and see what append.
For the attribute point, I’ll adjust according to the build I use and try the maximize them.
Trapping build
Escape
Whirling Defense
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Healing Spring
Troll Unguent
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Running Build
Escape
Storm Chaser
Dodge
Barbed
Whirling Defense
Troll Unguent
Mending
Healing Breeze
In this case, I should probably put in some condition and Hex remover (Crippled and Mind Freeze) but I'm not sure what to remove for that. Also, so far, when it come to slowdown hex like Mind Freeze, it seem that removing it is pointless because you usualy end up back with it before you're finish removing it.
Damage/Support Build
Ignite Arrows
Poison Arrow
Dual Shot
Distracting Shot
Whirling Defense
Healing Spring
Watchful Spirit
Rebirth

"Balthazar's Aura" for a Trapper Build? Is this a special offensive undead trapping build? Other than that, that 25 energy cost (its not affected by Expertise) is not justified on a ranger.
For UW runs, dust trap is a MUST imo.
For a Solo variation, give EoE a try.
I have no idea about Running builds I'm afraid.
Support and Damage are two totaly different roles a ranger can play.
For you're support build, you can drop Ignite, poison is good enough. The Pin Down+Hunter's shot is also very effective.
There are loads of damage builds out there. Just do a search and try whatever suits you best.
Distracting Shot is all you use for interrupting? Give Savage and Punishing or an interrupt prep a try before you give up on THE best Interrupting+Damage class in the game.

Thansk for the info.
The Barbed trap help sometime before starting to run as mentionned and (haven't try it yet) for those mob that also run and won't let me go. When a running spell run out, I cast WD and then place a barbed trap (and hope I'm lucky enought to block all attack the time it take to place BT), then run again. The "running mob" might not be able to pursue. Should be careful not to get surrounded also. However, here is a changed running build that work well so yesterday:
Escape
Storm Chaser
Dodge
Whirling Defense
Troll Unguent
Watchfull Spirit
Smite Hex
Mend Ailmend
For the Trapper build, I don't put trap ahead of the fight (if I have time I will but i don't count on it) but during the fight and with evasion skill, I can put my trap without being interupted 3 time out of 4 in average. So I cast BA on me then go near fights and put trap and do BA damage and also put a SoW next to the fight. I also like to cast BA on the frontline tank before I go trappping. I try it yesterday and it was ok most of the time but I ran out of mana when there was a big mob so I'll probably ditch it for Dust trap (If I do so, probably ditch all Smiting skill too). However, I think I can do much more damage with my bow.
For the Damage build, it certainly wroth revision but I would like to keep at least one Rebirth, one "Heal myself" and one "Heal Other" skill on my bar, unless we have a dedicated healer with us.
I'm still open to any suggestion.
