Same here, but don't always get Gold drops. They used to drop more often but I wouldn't call it nerfed either. One thing I did notice was not so much the # of Gold / Purple drops but the fact that it alwasy used to drop Max DMG Gold/Purp items and now I would asy 1/2 - 3/4 are max and others are 1-2 points off. This is annoying since I could go sell Max Gold and Purp damage items for 1-5K depending on Attributes as well.

I still however get more out of the Griffons in the desert than the Troll cAves in Droks or other areas.

Tried it again the other day for shits and giggles.

They must have seriously upped the spawn rate of Rockies
out there. I ran into upwards of 30 each run.

Best item I ever found was farming griffons. Sold it for 200k!

I haven't farmed much lately (though my monk did finish all the titan missions!) but from a small sample it looked to me that between the SF release and the last update the drops were very good. It was rare that I didn't get 1-2 golds every griffon run. Since the last update in about 4-5 runs I was lucky to see a purple in a run, and no golds at all. (and there were twice as many rockshots)

I farm the same griffins and been getting the same ammount of loot. Yes, there seems to be a few more Devourer types out there but they arent that much worse.

assuming you're farming with a standard low-health/prot spirit monk, just bring shield of judgment

the devourers always kill themselves when i use that, while i'm focusing on killing the griffons and minotaurs beating on me

Really don't know why people exaggerrate a lot. But max spawns of the devourers are around 10. And there isn't 40 griffons, or 30 minotaurs.

i bet if you counted them all you could find more than 30 minotaurs, (in the entirety of the zone), but i also bet you couldn't get them all to follow you. :P

as Alone) said though.. unless your game is magical or possessed, you probably won't see more than 10 rockshots in one run (depending on where you're moving around).

savior: low health 'invinci-monkfarminguberness' build is so played out and talked about everywhere, don't you think it would've been completely and utterly nerfed by now?

it's all luck, damnit.

Main difference I've noticed is that it doesn't work to use sprint to separate the griffons (which never give up the chase) from the rockshots (which quickly do) anymore. That hardly counts as a nerf.

Rufio: many builds, e.g. mine, actually has an EASIER time the more enemies there are attacking them. The only time I can get in trouble is when there's only one or two enemies left, as cyclone axe then doesn't recharge bonettis in one blow.
I also have zero problems with rockshots, or with drops. I do have problems selling anything I find during griffon runs, though. The green items & chest drops have pretty much killed the desert farming business.

I just started doing this and by golly, this is one of the best things that ever happened to me in this game.

I get atleast 5 purples each time (not good, but some offer som upgrades), a couple of blues and alot of whites, plus some cash.

I have yet to find any gold items and I can't take on more than 7 enemies at once (my farmer wasn't built for this from the start), but the money I spent on monk skills for my warrior certainly pay off now.

For quick results yes, but I do it with my W/E as well, because I need skill points badly (to test several builds in PvP - yes I am such an idiot with 4 PvE chars and not willing to delete any of them....). It is much slower, but fun though.

Hmmm, maybe go out the OTHER Augury exit and stroll to Destinty's Gorge, fighting Hydras and Centaurs. Or farm Sand Drakes between Elona and the Gorge. Or the giants and devourers before the cutscene in Thirsty River. I've spent most of the last 4 days doing those 2 runs, and I've done very well. A few keys, several golds (nothing worth auctioning, but hey 300-400 gold at the merchant works too), 3 bleached shells so far, and a couple golds worth keeping. All told, around 60 plat by the time I cashed in. Enough to buy a 3/1 vamp sword hilt and a 3/1 axe haft. And that doesn't include the dyes. Got 2 blacks yesterday from Hydras, and a bunch of other colors.

Equal rights for all! Kill the stupid devourers too! They generally drop carapaces which are worth 25 gold and stack, or about 80-100 gold, or items. Yeah they're not "fast kills," and take a littel time to wax, but you never know WHICH monster is going to be the one to drop that good item. The only enemies I leave alone are Jade Scarabs. I can barely kill ONE as a W/Mo, much less a pack of 5 or 6.

My thing is, I don't know what some people consider a "good" day's farming. If I can put in a few hours and profit 10k, after the ID kit and salvage kit overhead, I'm happy. Maybe my standards are low. I sometimes wonder if people realistically expect to make 50k a day every day and cry "nerf" when they can't / don't.

Nerf: most enemies either drop nothing at all (gold or otherwise), or totally worthless stuff. See Kryta drake runs. Kill a dozen and you're LUCKY if you even get one blue item. "Lightning Drake drops 2 scales."

Not nerfed: nearly every enemy drops something of value (value being a relative term) or gold.

Adjusted: every monster higher than level 20 doesn't automatically drop golds and purples and dyes just because it's over level 20. That might have been the case before (I remember those days myself), but it was getting abused.

An adjustment is NOT a nerf. If the griffons were nerfed, 70-80% of them would drop nothing at all, and the 20+% who did, would drop either wings or small piles of common crafting materials.

Gates of Kryta hasn't been nerfed. I still do it from time to time, when I feel the game is tiring of me farming other places. Considering that there's less than 20 drakes total, and you're pretty much guaranteed at least purple and often gold items, they're not bad. However, to me the real value of Gates of Kryta is farming the undead (go left when you come to the bridge, and you'll find about 50 undead). I always get runes and sometimes decent upgrades from the undead.

Heh, when I do Kryta, I usually ONLY do the undead. 200 bones and 40 Emblems per run adds up, and it ain't bad for 20 minutes worth of work. I only go to the Drakes periodically (once every few weeks) to see if anything has changed. I've gotten a couple purples, neither worth mentioning, and no golds whatsoever, in the last several times. And I don't over-farm the drakes at all. If anything, I overfarm the undead, but they're just so much fun to smite. The part at the end where about 30 ghouls and hellhounds pop out of the ground all at once, just begging for Balthazaar's Aura... yeah, I love it.
