Default Fun with Panic

Capped it in hell about a week ago and I must say its a very cool spell.

The best part about panic is that it gives 2 energy regen to target foe and nearby foes, but it doesnt end when they reach zero energy, just keeps on going and going and going...

Tried a very cool panic, energy drain mesmer with ether lord and some other cool skills that really can keep a monk low no problems at all. Try it out I think you may like it.

Ya, the update really buffed Panic. I think the range on it is about the same as a ward circle. It's pretty useful in PvP now.

Yea, the range is slightly less than that of a ward. It's a decent skill. Ether lord however, is not.

well heres how i abuse my panic
i panic a group of casters, then i arcane mimicry a teamate for echo
i echo and arcane echo ether lord 3 times to shut down 3 monks for 10 seconds (however you gotta do arcane echo first cos of energy management and cast time)
after that chain you should be left with about 35 energy to cast w/e the hell you want to finish those drained monks

You are defenetely mistaken by Ether lord, i know that "all your energy" doesnt sound good, but if u use it at the end of your combo, it cost u only 5 energy, u get energy regen +3 and target -3, which i think, is great

Wouldnt panic shutdown a war itself? like no energy regen and if they use tac.. no heal because dmg from signet use.

yeah panic followed by a simple energy tap completely shuts down a warriors energy use and yes gives them only like 30 actual health from their healing signet. w/mo's getting you down? panic for the win!

I use the same tactic with just Archane Echo, Panic and Ether Lord - works great doesn't it?

You get +10E regen (Ether Lord x2) while you're gimping two or three targets with a -5E effect on their mana regen (net -1E to -3E degen for most enemies). Add in Power Leak and Energy Tap for mana removal/stealing and you have the ability to spam Panic and Ether Lord to keep multiple casters begging for energy the entire fight (punishing Signet use as well).

If anyone tries to argue with you, ignore them. I've learned a long time ago that several people have their laughable list of "worthless" spells which often means they don't know how to use them properly. Everyone is affected by energy denial, and Panic+Ether Lord is one great combo to build around to acheive this.

I Thoroughly agree, panic is far from worthless it only has one downside and that is its cost of 25. But if you havent noticed yet you are a mesmer! energy tap plus ether lord brings you right back. throw in a power drain if you want to come back to max energy quickly.

Seriously its a malaise/wither that doesnt end when they reach zero energy and has an AoE effect almost as large as a ward how can you beat that.

I've played against some very good team arena builds that have awesome monks and monk support, and panic plus ether lord destroys their mana. and it does it with very little effort from you. I would venture to say panic is the best pure energy denial skill in the game when comboed with ether lord and mana drain.
