the SUPER gay mesmer build v10
im posting this build because im hoping one of you can help me adjust it for 8v8 <3
right now the build is geared towards 4-4 CA/TA
R/N
14 expertise (sup rune + hat)
12 blood magic
11 beast mastery (sup rune)
forgot to mention: you use the blood staff with two +30 hp mods on it
Vampiric touch
touch of agony
ferocious strike {E}
disrupting lunge
comfort animal/maiming strike/???
whirling defense
charm animal
resig
its an expertise touching build with a pet. kinda standard, but it ownxors the nubxors in ca.
reason i thought this would/might work in tombs is because the disrupting lunge would be super gay on the ghostly in an altar map, and everyones scared of killing pets because it triggers iway... so.. yea. did this with comfort animal and that conditional crippling attack thing, neither was very good.
ideas?

I'd suggest ditching the pet skills (bring the pet if you really want to) and picking up Sig of Agony+plague touch. You're already heavily invested in blood magic, so the aoe damage+condition you pass on should be a nice bit of fun.
Another option might be taking Bestial Pounce and Call of Haste for your pet skills. This should provide a bit of interrupt every 15 seconds that, due to the attack speed buff on the pet, might actually interrupt something once in a while.

I dunno, as a team thing I like the idea of pets, although that build will be a voracious mana-hungry machine since it's 15e every 4 seconds if you're full-on spamming touches.
I minht go Offering of blood as you elite to help power that.

what part of expertise is confusing here
at 14 expertise, vamp touch is 5 energy. ferocious strike returns 8 energy, costs like 2 energy.
plague touch might work well, but only in ca/ta. im using disrupting lunge only because its so dam good at disrupting people every 5 seconds, and ferocious strike for energy. my pet isnt there to do damage....
maybe in tombs it would work to also take something like savage shot, that way i have 2 distracts, both with 5 second cooldowns, so theoretically i can lockdown a monk... sad part is if the pet dies its gonna suck..
actually heres where that extra couple seconds of freeze time after savage shot is gonna suck even more, you cant follow the guy around with vamp touch if you keep freezing up. ew

Kick the beast mastery alright, you have 2 sources of damage and both are miserable.
I'd suggest you concentrate on pure touch builds.
And... how they will be scared to kill your pets? You don't have any warrior/rangers in your team!

Once your pet dies, a good chunk of your strategy is gone. As for the pure touch build, it may be hard to keep up w/ a fleeing target w/o a snare.

Plus, touch builds are too much of sacrificing, 2 prots and 1 healer won't be enough. You will need atleast 2 prots and 2 healers. Warder is not worth it, cause your offensive part have to run in etc...
So it would be like:
R/N Touch build
R/N Touch build
R/N Touch build
R/N Crippling shot+Death magic or curses
Ele/Mo Healing
Mo/N Healing
Mo/N Protection
Mo/N Protection
Muhaha!
/God, please, make people use this build! So I will own them all with Scourge Sacrifice! :P /

like i said, the way the build is right now its for 4-4. ive had people kill my pet all of once, and i was dead right about the same time.
and no dmitri that build wont even begin to work, the dps on the touch build is shit if there are 3 monks on the other team, and as for a spike its practically impossible unless you freeze them all in place.
one other thing: i dont use the pet for damage, its for energy and interupts. 1 interupt every 5 seconds is good enough for me, and the energy is nice too.
the only other 'touches' are lightning touch (which is impossible you can go r/n/e) and vile touch, which is death magic. tbh i dont even see the point in putting in more touches, vamp touch has a 2 second recharge... you would need it... why?
and my real idea was (i guess) to find a niche for _one_ of these chars in an 8 person build... not to multiply it by 8 and call it a build
thinking of making the elite bip and you could get a battery ranger... hmmm...

I miss the super-gay mesmer surge build! Nothing like taking the ghostlies out in 15 seconds. Too bad we only beat one team that was kind enough to ball up for our energy surge spike...

I posted a version of a pet/touch ranger a while back on the iQ forums. Similar, but I used Throw Dirt instead of Whirling dfense, ran only one sup rune and Call of Haste instead of disrupting Lunge, makes it easier to catch the eneies with your pet, and bumps the base pet damage up 33% by attacking more frequently. It works pretty well in CA and TA, but I don't think it's a tombs build at all.

the super gay mesmer part comes in the form of and interrupt knock off from a non mesmer class - hence super gay.
I would try to fit in plague touch to get the poison off of you. I like Whirling defense ... have always liked it ... what about Call of Ferocity or symbiotic bond instead of comfort animal ...

Well, try to use real touch build and see if you have damage that is about 3x higher that yours.
5 secs interrupt not worth it, cause simply you can't have your pet run all around the place to interrupt rezes and critical spells. If you think the person who is attacked needs to be interrupted, you are wrong... unless you all are attacking different targets - which will just cause you to loose. :P
With just vampiric touch and touch of agony there's not enough damage... I can do alot more by just swinging an axe... without using any skills.

Well if your going 8v8 with it, you could have one beast master bring revive animals, then the rest of you would have an open skill slot, besides that (IMO) it looks good.
