Godfire Knight: Walking PvE volcano
Was just experimenting for fun with this build and I find it to be quite a refreshing change of pace from my W/N.
W/E
12+1+3 Axe Mastery
8+1 Tactics
10 Fire Magic
Since fire has one crappy elite [mind burn], axe is the way to go for the shield and the damage. No sprint or other strength skills so no strength. We'll let our pressure cooker do our damage for us.
Cyclone Axe
Eviscerate {E}
Executioner's Strike
Bonetti's Defense
Shield Stance
Healing Signet / Res Signet
Lava Font
Conjure Flame
I was considering using a sword for it's excellent Tactics synergy but a fiery executioner for PvE sounded more usable. [yay eviscerate]
The idea is to wield a Zealous axe and feed your Lava Font capabilities using Bonetti's Defense. Execute Shield Stance to do a Healing Signet when needed but keep that Adrenaline coming for Bonetti's using Cyclone. If you time it right, you should be doing nothing but Lava Font indefinitely. What's nice about this I noticed when compared to my original Mark of Pain build is that if the Hexed victim walks away, I'm in trouble. Here, any foe that walks away is not only lessening the damage dealt to you, you're not losing anything as the lava flowing at your feet will pretty much toast who's left behind.
I was thinking of Inferno as well but it's an AoE spike. I figured an AoE semi-DoT would be more energy efficient [as well as do more damage in the long run.]
Can anyone think of a way to augment the pressure cooker basis of this build? [get surrounded and blam, roasty toasty]

nice build, yukito. i love fun pve builds.
i have a similar fire warrior build, but instead of lava font, i use flame burst and inferno. lava font is good for slow and steady damage, whereas flame burst + inferno is good aoe spike damage. the only issue i had was energy, which i made up for with either warrior's endurance, bonetti's defense, or glyph of lesser energy.
you went for the slow pressure cooker route, whereas i went for the quick instant fry route.
i don't know if there's more that you can add to your build to augment the aoe damage. if you're constantly casting lava font in cycles of 6 sec (4 sec recharge, 2 sec cast time) it doesn't leave much for stuff in between other than building adrenaline and using bonetti's.
how about adding in glyph of concentration? 2 sec cast time of lava font is brutal if you're in the thick of thing and enemies like to spam disrupting chop, savage slash, or other interrupts.

errrr.... flame burst. high damage (quite) high energy low recharge. Good for bonetti's.
Perhaps take out the points in axe and some into water for the almighty blurred vision (but save cyclone for charging) and get glads defense (more tactics!!.. and aoe damage... which is what your after).
A good mix with bonettis, switch between the two, should be pumping out a lot of damage, and youve protted yourself a bit more.
Dont know about energy at this stage though.... im getting a little carried away.
Doylak Signet is always a nice free buff.... you have strength also... actually, screw strength and stick with shield stance - much better, and your not hitting things now.
So how about:
Warrior/Elementalist
Fire: 10
Water: 10
Tactics: 11+3 (+2+1)
Gladiators Defense [e] (11 seconds duration)
Bonettis Defense (11 seconds duration)
Cyclone Axe (+4 damage - rar! -.-)
Shield Stance (20s duration)
Healing Signet (145hp)
Lava Font (21per second)
Flame Burst (77 damage)
Blurred Vision (16 seconds)

@rii
i don't think it would be a good idea to combine flame burst with lava font. he's already investing energy into constantly casting lava font when he can, so energy will definitely be an issue.
glad defense is a good swap for eviscerate though. it goes along with the theme of constant aoe damage output.
and i also don't know how wise it would be to invest so many points into water just for 1 skill. it's really not needed.

Yeah, but frankly putting it into strength isnt doing you any good (youve got constant dodge so anything like doylak isnt helping a great deal). Buffing attributes to 12 in pve doesnt do a whole lot either.
So putting the points into water is basically a security net if you get caught with your metaphorical pants down and need to cyclone to put up bonettis - the miss chance would be helpful in such a situation.
As for flame burst, i havent tried it so in terms of energy it might be heavy. In all honesty though, theres not a lot worth having in its place. Shields Up!? Frankly, just leave it in as a finisher style move. Actually... phoenix does that better. Phoenix in for flame burst.
Watch yourself is always a possibility, but it screws with your adrenaline intake a bit.

you will almost never have energy for flameburst, and its recharge is wasted then. just go with inferno, youl probably only be able to do it once every 20 seconds

I dont know, if you carry a focus (swap to shield just for shield stance?) you can get about 35 energy... thats a flame burst/lava font/cyclone axe/ bonettis... then recharge pool.....dont see too much of a problem. But then again, its of no consequence in any way. Watching bits of red appear on the screen does not contitute a 'fun' build in my eyes.

Why not warrior's endurance to feed energy? It combines nicely with cyclone's, and will give you the extra energy you need for flameburst spamming

Sounds like a fun build. Not sure why you don't put a couple points into str. though, unless that works out to exactly 200 attribute points spent. At least toss on a minor str. rune. A little bit of armor penetration is better than letting a few extra points sit there and do nothing.

If you use warriors endurance you cant use bonettis, and if you cant use bonettis you have no dodge so you die. Whatsmore, bonettis is a bigger more spammable energy engine than we, so frankly theres no reason to use it at all.
The damage youll do to the 20 creeps youve gathered with a non-req. axe even with a few strength points makes so little difference... all the damage here is coming from glads defense and lava font.

Conjure Flame + Zealous Axe? Doesn't zealous take the place of the fiery modifier?
Nice build though, I changed my wa/mo to wa/el after ascending and am playing with different PBAOE fire builds as well. Currently fiery sword (haven't found a fiery axe yet ) + Conjure Flame, Lava Font and Inferno. With an artifact + gladiators armor I have 39 energy.
