No you can't. Or maybe you can? Work with the skills and find something. Or just make a monk and do it. Much easier and more efficient than a ranger will ever be.

It can't, cause he can't cast protective spirit.
Only thing can work is evasive stances and touch build. Or maybe barage with something like order of vampire... though Spiteful Spirit will do alot better lol.

Mark of Pain+stances+oathshot to recharge+throw dirt, pound shots into the marked griffon to drop those around you? Possibly use an EoE to up the damage, or run wilderness for some healing/traps? Haven't tried it, but Mark of Pain is an efficient way to spread damage. You don't even need much marksmanship for this build, as you can deal the damage through ignite arrow/mark of Pain.

Expertise 8+4(?)
Curses 12
Wilderness 10+1(?)

Oath Shot (E)
Whirling Defense
Throw Dirt
Mark of Pain
Ignite Arrows
Troll's Unguent
Lightning Reflexes (speeds up shots+defense)
Dual Shot (triggers MoP twice)

Or something like that - lots of area damage, able to maintain good defenses, heals pretty well. You should be hit very little, and can do 14 fire +34 shadow in an area with every arrow, dual shot dealing double that and lightning reflexes allowing you to hit every 1.33 seconds.

You know, much easier said than done. When you have griffons pounding on you, you most likely wont have much time to think. R/N I doubt can farm griffons, but the 3-4 griffon groups should be possible.

Never said it would be easy; you do get some safety out of the blindness. You can't do like an edge monk-farmer and simply gather up every griffon on the planet, drag them over toyour edge and smite the snot out of them; it can solo engage small groups (3-4) at a time, working your way across the level. A trapping build might also work, especially one using a similar oathshot/stances/dirt style, though it wouldn't really be an R/N but just an R build. I suppose you could try using traps, stances and throw in Virulence or something to bump the degen up to 10 pips, but you lose out on your oathshot that way.
