Bahaha I go against monks, and if you can land a concussion shot they're out for 15 seconds. And rangers aren't strong in any one area- they're jacks of all trades. That's their point. That's almost always. Rogues in D&D? Rangers in that too, actually.

As for the whole line of sight thing, using your enviroment. That is an absolute must. As an ele I try to hide behind things. With a ranger I try to get on top of hills.

"Just tried blinding flash... it works ok. Still, only 10 seconds and take it they are back. (Huh?) I guess it is balanced but crap. (Not true... as an ele you should be able to put a a mderate beat down on a warrior in your face). I used to feel I can deal lots of damage. Now it's like Protect protect...."

what the hell? i'll try to salvage what i can from this statement....

Blinding Flash: probably your main problem is the fact that this spell takes 15 energy to cast. get air attunement, along with elemental attunement [E]. that should get you 12 energy back. 10 seconds and they aren't blind anymore? it's got a 4 second recharge, so send another flash right back at them.

...as for the rest of this sentence, i can't understand it....

Interrupts stopped us from winning halls yesterday...there were about 3 rangers constantly interrupting our hero everytime we tried to claim...

We had dust trappers but the rangers were smart and knew how to move out of the way of a trap :P Throw dirt would have been nice tho...

But really, blindness it the best defense against interrupts, especially if you have to protect someone else, not yourself (otherwise mantra of resolve is the best choice).

This does not affect interrupts. Interrupts got a big buff with the last update.

your complaing about inturpts haha.... selling the game just cos you can adjust to counter them, man thats weak, sorry to say but like most ppl here have said THINK on how to get around them and you will work it out.

dont just ask for help look in your skills and think what to take and what not to take, dont rely on other ppl to tell yo how to do it, then its just boring.

it sucks for me when im casting a big spell and then blam interutped and the skill is recharging so i cant use again untill it does... so it makes me useless..
yes i could take glyph of concentration but i have to cast that first then my spell everytime... by that time im dead anyways as my armor is sucky...
Just my opinion but i dont like it.. it sucks that everytime in comp arena i spawn and see rangers i know they are comming for me... even if we have a monk they come for me.... so my character in pvp is basically useless...
ive tried em all
air fire water earth
anyone with any help on not getting interupted will be appreciated thanks....

Hey! u should use some skils which gonna evade/block melee and arrows attacks, and use blinding flash on a ranger if he/she tryes to interpt u every time ,but u should still remember one single thing, rangers has a secondary profession ,so u really need to think some good build for u, which will gover u for interupting/hexes. And glimmering mark (E) is useful skill because if u cast lighting dmg very fast and if u attacking interupter every time then the interupter gonna be blid over 20 seconds! u should try it

You may as well sell the game.

I say this bluntly because I'm a warrior who WANTS the ability to interrupt traps and spells...

If you can shut out non-casters using 2 skills. [Shadow of Fear, Enfeeble], then WE as non-casters deserve the power to SHUT OUT your HARD hitting 5s. cast time spells...

I see no reason to give advise on someone who thinks interrupts are horrid. To me, that's like me, the warrior, saying hexes/conditions are evil...

I can counter them with a good team. If you can't counter, then don't play this game...

Like what Yukito said, try playing a warrior and see how badly one can suffer without support and compared it to caster char :P.

For the record, my warrior in CA managed to get stacked with 2 rows of hexes+conditions as I did not bring the right tools to remove them. My caster char never experience that before.

I'm glad the flaming was kept to a minimum... if the guy likes playing E/Mo, don't go off at him. There's nothing that says you need to unlock all the skills for all 6 professions to be good at this game.

To the OP, there were some good suggestions in here that will allow you to stay as an E/Mo. Give them a try.

do have to agree that interrupts are still very unbalanced. when the interrupts recharge faster than most of the skills they are interrupting something is wrong with that.

Actually no, given that the interrupts do very little dmg, but if you get that meteor shower off, you can in theory do about 400 dmg to a single target (if they aren't smart enough to move). Compare 400, or even 100 to the 30 or so that you'll take from a kindled distracting shot.

Agreeing with the blind- and with Dargon.

I run an air spike. Do I hate it when someone interrupts my Lightning Surge? damn right I do! Do I bitch about it? No, because they just avoided a good 100 damage followed with lightning orb for 200 in 1 second or less. If I run into a team who interrupts so well that I can't get a spell off? I congratulate them.

OP- go play an interrupt mesmer and find out how much of a bitch it can be at times when you've got warriors on you and can't do a damn thing against them. Or when you accidentally "Power Block" a Signet of Devotion because you're getting trigger happy.

you have to remember this game is about BALENCE and SKILL... its all about how you play it.

Every build has a counter. Maybe a little harder to find. but its out there... True Rangers interrupts are powerful, but just think how bad it was back when those guys were getting left out of everything cause no one knew how to use em.

Also Malstorm and Spellbreaker cause you a ton of worry. But allas you can get some really good damage if you manage to get a few by. basically wait for a bit and force them to use their energy on you canceling Low energy skills. then when they are out cast the monster Spike or meteor... That's part of the reason eles have such high energy... Rangers do not have enough energy then to interrupt you head to head, and they are toast...

Timing is key. you'll get used to it...

amen! i play interrupts a lot as a mesmer and it's a tricky business. in a bad day i am completely useless to my team, on a good day i'm devastating. one thing i find is that once i get a couple good interrupts off, a good team will shout and i immediately find two warriors on my back making me taste their blades or the dirt (if it's a hammer).

if a mesmer is interrupting you - get help from your teammates. noone can interrupt effectively while running for his life.
