i have encountered a mesmer in comp. arena few days ago, in the match, we have 3 warriors and 1 monk, they were in a casters build, memser, 2 nuker and monk. in less than 1 min, we killed them all except the mesmer...and that was a nightmare......we wasted 30mins to attack him and we can't even reduced his hp 50%!!!!!!!

all his teamates left and he fought until we left too.....that was really gay...i was just like sleeping in the middle of the fight...but i was amazed by his build........so can anyone tell me what is the possible build for him against warrior's attacks???

all i can think of is mark of protection whenever a monster casts that on i do 0 damage for a long time

sympathetic visage + mark of protection or healing hands. is nice against warriors

Distortion as well, I'm guessing. If you were attacking him for half an hour, surely you saw his skills...is this a disguised "give me a leet build" thread?

Spirit of failure, distortion, Healing breeze, imagined burden, sympathetic visage and some more healing/prot skills.

He's not super gay, you're just super slow...

Sorry to say it but if you can't kill a mesmer, you're missing a LOT of ESSENTIAL stuff a warrior needs to possess.

You need something to deal with his cowardly capabilities.

They are:

Distortion [or any stance]
Enchantment
Conditions
Hexes

A warrior with a smart set of secondary skills can kill at least 3 of these problems.

I rely on Swift Chop, Rend, and Plague Touch to deal with about 90% of my problems. It's the hexes I can't stand... [grr]

gay mesmer builds involve illusionary weaponary.

But syaing that, I have developed a strong tombs build now based on IW, but it's gay

shield of deflection [e]
guardian
pacifism/sympathetic visage
remove hex
convert hexes
res sig/spirit shackles
ether feast/signet of humility

its a gvg build designed to screw over warriors/rangers.... by making them miss evey time. fast cast hex removal.... miss is spammable, healing is actually quite strong... and can deny energy...and elites (kd anyone?)

it wasnt meant to grief, it was meant to be reactive attacker shutdown.... but it can grief..... really really well -.-

First off, you guys need to hurry through puberty and stop calling stuff gay. Secondly, the memser simply chose specific skills to take advantage of the weaknesses of the vast majority of comp arena warrior builds. He was basically just making fun of you and not contributing that much to his team.

One day perhaps we wont see so many paladins running around and will start seeing warriors taking skills like wild blow or warriors cunning and trying out different secondaries so that they can drain/strip enchantments and plague touch etc. I hope not though because paladins are so much fun to fight against.

Seriously though, things like Wild Blow are pointless against distortion. It's a 5 second stance, it'll be right back. It's better, in my mind, to build towards optimal than build towards doing everybodies job. If there is a mesmer running something like this, I'd just give 'em a Swift Chop (when playing my warrior), call out that he is highly defensive vs. warriors, and leave it to the casters...I'll go chase another target. Staying on the person is merely maximizing their skill choices. If they're super-tough vs. warriors, then they're not going to be able to fully defend against casters...and if, by some miracle, they figure out a super build that can defend against everything...there is no offense.

I realize that this was 3 warriors and a monk agaisnt the guy, but you were feeding him so much energy, how could he drop? When it's down to 4v1, have everyone not affected by SoF attack him, with the monk removing it whenever s/he can. Even better...run from them. That's right, 4 people running from one. Stay well out of casting range...after 30 seconds or so nobody will have SoF on them anymore...NOW get in there and see if you can crack the tough nut. Someone will have to stand there and dance with SoF on 'em, but the other 3 people won't.

invisimonk build. used to do it with ele/mo. if you constatly attacked him you gave him energy. when you see some one spamming protective spirit and doing about 5-10 dmg just stop attacking. he'll run out of energy and can't renew pro spirit. hit him with some sort of hp degen and let it kill just don't attack.
