channeling is nice, you can get that from lions arch, and either run a rez signet or maybe air attunement?

I like blind spamming, which works great in PvE, but often countered in PvP

blind spamming is
Blinding Flash (~10 secs for air primaries)
Epidemic (mesmer)

works great on aggro, especially if working in tandem with an AoE mage. My Air/Earth Elemental Attunement hybrid mage will kick off one of these followed by eruption, and then if a group is left, follow with chain lightning and for individuals enervating charge followed by stoning. Elemental Attunement is a late capture, though, and has some serious weaknesses, so you probably want to ignore it and play with combos like that after finishing the game.
