Pinch's Really Annoying Random Arena Ranger!
Being a ranger is fun in random arenas. You can make warriors and rangers reeeeeeeally mad.
Class: R/Mo
Attributes
Expertise - 10+3 [13] (mask+major rune)
Wilderness Survival - 11+1 [12] (minor rune)
Marksmanship - 10+1 [11] (minor rune)
Healing Prayers - 1 [1] (spare point)
Gear
Recurve Bow, +15% in a stance
Druid Armor
Skills
Troll Unguent
Oath Shot [E]
Whirling Defense
Distracting Shot
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Throw Dirt
Restore Life
Basically, if you don't get interrupted, you can keep putting down traps and keep whirling defense up nonstop. Throw dirt is for pesky warriors. This works quite nicely in random arenas, as I can easily take on 4 bad warriors and come out the victor. It's a bit harder against smarter warriors, but if they have purge conditions, you just have to oath and throw dirt again, and start layin the traps.

I laugh at PvP trappers, you see them half way across the map. The other team is always making fun of you in team chat and your own team is too embarrassed to say anything.
And then in the off chance that no one sees what you are up to, they will find out after stepping on one trap. Congragulations, you are now useless.

Oh you'd hate me since I changed secondary from monk to necro. Plague touch is so wonderful against throw dirt.
I believe I've encountered a build similar to this but it didn't use traps.

Its really not a bad build but I'm not sure about that restore life. res sig ftw!
These guys have a point though, a lot of warriors carry means to remove conditions in arenas.

Notice how this is for random arenas. Not a lot of people are smart enough to bring condition removal. Also, I'm not stupid, I don't ever throw dirt on N/W's or W/N's. Anyways, I don't give a shit if you see me using my traps. There's a 75% chance you'll forget about them :P

traps are not marked after u lay them down. and if you lay them down on narrow paths, someone's bound to step into them, either while chasing after a caster or fleeing. having identified a trapper in arena doesnt mean you will be able to avoid his traps 100%. a lot of time a warriors urge to plant his weapon into a casters body will often lead them running into a trap.

I've played a trapper in random and team arenas and a lot of times the warriors i fight are not that agile at all in dodging traps. furthermore, they repeatedly stepped into my traps trying to chase me, hobbling and bleeding. by the time they realise they are dying and started crawling back to their teammates, it's too late. Of course, this wont work well against W/Ns as they normally bring plague touch.

W/N eats trap users, unless the entire team is smart and runs from them as they hobble in...
All a w/n has to do is be within spitting distance and ALL the conditions from multiple traps are on your teammates...
[Victory is Mine! anyone? ^_^]

Without poison, you really can't expect to do much damage with trappers. Even the 4 traps, one after the other, your target'll still be alive and kicking.

Well, remember, he is designing this to work against random, incompetent W/Mo sword warriors with big fiery dragon swords, so pointing out flaws that good players would exploit doesn't really mean anything.
My comment, why distracting shot? In my opinion, that's more of a high-level PvP skill. You use it to distract a enemy res sig or spirit or something to really wreck their team. But in random distracting seems to have much less use. What's a stupid W/Mo going to use that is worth distracting anyway? Why not take Apply Poison for even more annoyance.

distracting shot is a lot more useful than u think. distracting that heal signet/troll unguent means certain death since the skill will take additional 20secs to recharge. and it's very important to distract rez signet to prevent that annoying warrior from comming back to life and squish u.

umm... experienced trappers usually stack traps and have high wilderness survival. it's normal to get 100+ initial dmg from stacked traps if the person was careless enough to step on it. crippled and bleeding lasts more than 20secs which is a huge inconvenience. stack bleeding with poison to get -7 degen and after 20 sec = 280hp gone.
you would really be in deep trouble if they arent anybody around to heal you or remove conditions.
