Default QUICKSHOT someone plz explain

okay... i havent got the skill for myself yet (still stuck on thunderhead -_-') but anyways.. this skill rly confuses me - it says it shoots 2x faster, yet it has a 1 second casting time??? does this 1 second casting time come into effect or what? is its purpose to prevent spamming?

also.. i was wondering about how this skill funcions with skills like tf qz and sq

now first of all.. do quickening zephyr and seperpents quickness stack?

next, since quickshot says - shoot an arrow twice as fast as your normal attack speed, does it mean normal being your bow's base attack speed? and then adding buffs like tigers fury and or frenzy afterwards?

and finally, can somone plz clarify how exactly the shooting methods of a bow works.. ive been told there are two phases of a shot

1. being the preparation of the shot (pulling the arrow out of the quiver or watever he or she pulls it out of)
2. being the release of the arrow and the flight

i am not exactly sure whether that is correct or not so plz correct me if im wrong there, thats just what ive been told

and finally.. when i use quick shot, does it bypass my recoil of the preparation or something? or does it just prepare 2x faster like the skill says?

also your probably wondering why this is in the build section of this forum.. i am lookin for a good qs build and am checking out what others run so feel free to post ur build and what you are running thanks

I don't really get why it says a 1 second cast time either. It doesn't seem any longer than the 3/4 second time of Distracting Shot.

Quickening Zephyr and Serpent's Quickness do not stack.

If you have QZ up, thanks to rounding arror, QS ends up with a 0 recharge time (It becomes spammable just like Flare). Tiger's Fury will enhance the speed even more.

That's about all I know. I tried a quick shot build and found it eats mana too fast for my tastes. It can do some impressive damage, but I like builds with endurance and flexibility.

Quick Shot's timing is weird. This post should clear up your timing questions, though.

Regarding your last question, Quick Shot has no effect on preparations, and preparations have no effect on your firing speed.

Quick Shot is actually a lot more spammable than Flare because it has no aftercast. With TF and QZ you can fire Quick Shot about 3 times faster than Flare can be spammed.

If you really want a Quickshot build to work well, I would recomend 14-16 Expertise. It is amazing if you can maintain it.

With QZ, Quick Shot costs 3 energy at 13 Expertise and doesn't go down even at 16. =/ You need 15 Expertise just to reduce TF from 6e to 5e, which I don't think is really worthwhile. 13 seems sufficient.

Yea, I had just read the info on GWOnline that there were no cutoffs. They changed it back today. So... you want 13 or 14 expertise on a ranger. No more.

About TF, are you saying with QZ you need 15 expertise for 5e?

okay, ive got my build up and running, but i just cant seem to keep my mana together any ideas on what i can do to fix this problem?

atm im running r/w

frenzy
quickshot
kindle arrow
quickening zephyr
res sig
troll unguent
storm chaser
pin down

i am using a zealous bow string yet still i am facing too much mana consumption

13/14 Expertise and a Zealous Bow String should be all you need. Make sure to have a weapon swap when your not in battle.

yeah don't use quickening zephyr. Seriously... w/quickshot and QZ u can kill first foe fairly easily usually, but then you're out of energy. BUt if you dont use QZ then you have to wait longer between shot or alternate diff bow attacks.

i'm starting to use power drain (mesmer) .. it interrupts.. if its a spell, you get like 20 energy back.. its 25 second cool down, but when using QZ it's cut in half to like 13 seconds

No, you need 14 to make it go down from 5 to 4.

If your Tiger's Fury isn't level 12, you don't have to have 14 expertise. Quick shot will still cost 2 energy to use.

ive been tweaking with the build a lot and i find that r/w works well for me bcuz of frenzy, i hear many ppl say theyr landing like 70 - 90 a hit on normal monks.. i find this kinda hard to believe i land 40 - 50 most of the time with kindle arrow + attacks, im guessing that these 70 - 90's are because of conjure and kindle, but still that seems like it wouldnt reach 70 or 90. Are these people seriosly doing that much dmg or are they just lying / hitting weak armored enemies?

and yes im still running into mana problems with 13 expertise, quickening zephyr zealous string and running frenzy. (and i use a bow w/o zealous when nto atking)
