Since protective spirit makes you only lose a maximum of 10% of your health, does that kinda mean that you don't really need to wear any armor?

Against those buff-stacked warriors/rangers you'll want to keep your armor on.

Sure, take off your armor. You don't need that +1 Energy Regen or the +5-8 energy that you get from one piece or another.

i was asking this cause I was going to get some equipment for monk when he goes farming. I got a set of armor for PvP and I don't want to put so many superior runes in it... so I was thinking i might just use the newbie armor (i kept it cause I thought it looked cool) and put superior rune in it and use it as my smiting gear. In that case I don't have to waste any more gold for another set of armor.

Protective spirit and simular are absolutely useless about many small attacks, like arrows, stone daggers ... and only usefull against a few big attacks.

LOL obviously you don't know how to use this skill. protective spirit is the most over powered spell on the game by all counts for farming. protective will be the only way you stay alive while you farm. i can farm just about any area in the game. i just stay away from things that can remove enchantments. this spell is the only reason i can solo the UW.

ill laught at you in the halls of heroes when you try to use protective spirit.
it will either be removed or just be ignored by small attacks.

and i actually laught at you for using protective spirit for farming instead of that good skill good players use for the same.

its for farming not pvp

you cannot die with these very easy spells. spirit, breeze, and divine boon.

may i ask you a question can you solo UW. that's my stomping ground. it wouldn't be possible w/o that spell. only a monk can solo UW and fissure.

as i said before you just don't know how to use this spell.

Ollj was referring to the fact that people with a brain use another skill instead, one that is significantly better. But wait, you are the smart one, you can solo UW(OMG!!!111 lolz!!!11 j00 r 1337 d00dz!!!!)

Protective bonds combined with balthazar's spirit. 5% max damage and you regen mana with each hit you take to counteract the lst mana from bonds.

Yea, armor would be nice =p, considering I cant find a reason not to wear it. Also about the prot bond + balth spirit, throw in Essence bond if you can, it helps. On the topic of prot spirit, there is 1 type of damage that can bypass it... do you know what that is?

Grenths Balance I believe will ignore prot spirit. It stops everything else though and is incredibly useful in pvp.

For PvP its removed quickly, if its recast again people go for quick, light damage skills. Prot Spirit vs Balthz Aura.... Hrmmm, not limiting damage there now is it?

degeneration, i believe.

i bet, prot bond and spirit stop ALL kind of damage, including holy, chaos and dark. except degen. you can only remove or counter degen, but not protect against it. (well spellbreaker, but thats prevention not protection)
