Another skill I fail to see the merit in;
Compared across professions, it's more costly and less effective than other 75% block rate skills-
Many of the stances for this effect cost 5-10;
Most of those stances recharge in 60 seconds;
Most of those stances block ALL forms of attacks at a 75% rate.
You can't even toss this on an ally to justify the lower effectiveness.
Compared to other Earth spells;
Ward Against Melee wins out hands down. 50% block rate for ALL allies in range, but can be maintained 100% of the time in longer intervals, and for the same cost. Once WAM is down, it can't be removed either.
Armor of Earth will reduce the damage of melee attacks (As opposed to a percentage block), by about 65% at maxxed Earth (60 base AL + 60 AL from Armor of Earth), in addition to elemental spells, and ranged attacks. It too can be maintained constantly. Same cost, once again, and longer duration. Far more versatile self-defence skill.
The sole merit I see in this spell is that it can be extended an extra 2 seconds through use of enchantment mods...
I think I'd heard of it being used to solo some melee mobs with, but you'd either have to echo this, or kill the monsters in less than 13 seconds, in which case you could have probably killed them regardless. Unless they use some sort of interrupt and you really need the added evasion.
