Hi guys i dont really post much on the forums because im new and dont really have too much advice but my first char was a n/w and i use a build that is ok in arenas. Skills are: Demonic Touch, Vampiric Gaze, Vampiric Touch, Life Transfer, Shadow Strike, Plague Touch, Bonettis Defence, Rez Signet. I use one of those very good collectors items that boost your energy 27. The idea is to use the life stealing skills to do the bulk of your damage and if u get bleed on u or something use plague touch. Then when your energy gets to 0 u turn up bonettis defence and start melee attacking. Hopefully somebody would have tried to attack u refilling your energy and you use the life stealing skills again and by then the enemy should be dead or close to dead. This build is still under some work. Hope i was some help to you. 2nd or 3rd post for me

/W for bonetti's is not a bad idea if you're getting attacked. However, it really does depend on how often you get attacked by melee guys. Besides, a necro anything has access to the best warrior debuffs in the entire game.

Yeah, using some of the non-attack skills, like Elder said, could be a reason to choose warrior as your secondary. Bonetti's is a great energy builder, and a few of the other stances will help keep you alive, but here's the thing. Bonetti's really helps against warriors, and most likely as a necromancer you've already screwed the warriors over with either enfeeble, faintheartedness, or both. That kind of negates the need for a stance in the first place, unless you're really needing the energy bonetti's gives. If you're wanting to be a melee class, go warrior. Take it from people who know, like, say, me. I played a necro/warrior as my first character, and I now almost exclusively play me warrior/necro.

A warrior/necro will outdamage any necromancer on any day of the week. Heck, a warrior of any type will pretty much outdamage anything. A necromancer is best running support, dropping hexes to hinder and debuff the enemy, giving your team excess energy, and taking advantage of corpses. But the real kicker is this: Currently the necromancer is a gimped class in any PvP situation. Wanna know why? The necromancer's primary attribute, Soul Reaping, has no skills to choose from which will give you an advantage over a non-necro primary. Soul reaping, while an excellent energy battery in PvE, is awful in PvP. You'll start the match, drop your heavy spells, and then sit there and wait as your energy recharges. You could hurt yourself for energy, or you could just choose an ele primary for more energy.

Point is, necromancers are a great class on paper, but are currently really suffering from several problems. If you're in PvE, they're absolutely fantastic. But if you plan to do any PvP'ing, you probably want to look to another class or be ready to simply give teammates your blood and blow up bodies.

Yeah, I can understand on a 4 vs 4 setting how a necromancer could pull his own weight. Only thing is, you're probably going to find something else would fill his slot a whole lot better. I'm not downing the necromancer, so don't take offense. I have no intention to insult the builds or the time spent by people into their necromancer. I, personally, was quite frustrated when I learned after my first character that not every class really is effective as advertised. I'm personally hoping, and have been hoping, that certain changes will be made to make the necromancer more effective.

I say that people stop crying nerf and start asking for ways that the developers can improve other classes so that no one is brought down - Everyone is just brought up to the same level. This needs to happen especially to the necromancer, who is currently pulling up in 6th place when it comes to class effectiveness.

I have a N/W and a W/N. I really want to buff up my W/N. Does anyone have ideas on what builds and such that would be good?
