chain lightning Spamming
ok, here it goes, yesterday me and a fellow guild member took out a whole team by spamming chain lightning.
it works like this
chain lightning
acrcan echo
arcane theivery
echo
this combo lets me use chain lightning 4 times in arround 8 seconds
2 E/M were needed to do this and we each did about 400 damage to the group, thats 800 in total, they didnt know what hit them.
Take a look at the pic and tell me its a bad idea.
this could be done with any spell that had a high recharge so, any ideas?

Exhaustion is a condition that can be removed by monks .

1. Exhastion cant be removed by monks.
2. Exhaustion doesnt matter if you get a triple kill in the first 8 seconds.

you won', most of the time.
That is the problem with air spikes. That is why noone uses an all air spike team.
You just need to survive the first wave... And protective spirit, RoF, fertile season, Ward against elements/harm,... make this possible. after the first 1 or 2 waves you are wasted...
you need to design your build for a longer battle...

in a 8v8 for example:
1. Does it really matter that your working at half energy, especially if 3 of the opposing team is dead (and 3 is the minimum)
2. a monk couldnt counter as fast as i could cast
3. i still have 45 energy! even after casting 4 chain lightnings killing half of their team. I can cast lots of other spells that dont cause exaustion.
4. 6 members of our team r still on full energy working at full capacity, they can take out the other 4 or 5 members of their team (taking into consideration that the 2 air eles are still usefull).
5. yes, this didnt work so well against fertile season, however air eles can still do damage wether fertile season is up or not!

Arcane Thievery? I'm sorry, sir, but that's a HUGE wildcard, because not everyone carries chain lightning, and if they do, it's a 12.5% chance you'll steal that from their bar.
Also, air spike? That's not only last month, but it's obsolete, because everyone carries a counter. Not only that, but a good monk will see your Air Attunement go off before battle, and protect the only few characters you CAN kill. Not only that again, but I'm sure you realize that chain lightning has 2.75 seconds between its chain (pun!) casts, not counting the 1.75 or 2.75 additional seconds for arcane echo and echo. Time, that is, for more protection spells to go up, or for your target to get healed before your chain (gee...) of chain lightnings is complete.
Oh, and wow did everyone forget Fertile Season existed, rampantly, in halls?
-edit-
My bad, 4.75 and 2.75 for echo and arcane echo, you can count on always fighting in an NR. Lightning Surge? 4s cast time? klol.

Air spike is not obsolete. You just have to be very, very good at it. There's really no way you can afford to gamble the entire match on the opening. Good teams will lay down Fertile Season once they tab through the enemy team and notice Air Eles. Similiarly, Prot Spirit will begin going up pre-battle and Reversal will be ready in a flash.
This means it will be your team that needs excellent coordination since they can put up the potential counter so early. If you can time a Rend or Lingering perfectly, you're still going to have awesome results, but otherwise, you pretty much lose.

It'd be the kennedy orb. Goes around the wall, through the 2 fertiles, comes BACK, and spikes the monk. No one will know, they'll blame the mesmer.

thanks for the criticism, no really i apreciate it.
HOWEVER
I really think you should try it before you begin tell me how bad the build is. As of yet i have only lost 3 battles using this combo. It works very well.

You must have only made 3 halls pushes, then, because I never saw you in Halls, with an airspike build.

Conflag and winter is old news. An oathshot ranger can't keep up with a DPS warrior killing all the winters on the map, proven time and again on the field.
