Necro Minion Master?
I just made a brand new Minion master Necromancer, after switching my second class to monk. Well, I beat Ice Caves of Sorrow, but with a Blood/Curses build. I've gone back and helped my friends through the ascension missions, and Im pleased to say that with a half competent group, The Horrors and Fiends are pretty good to mob the enemies. I dont like using Death Nova, what with the clicking everything you spawn and all that. And it only lasts 30 seconds. So normally I have a group of 10-15 Horrors and a few fiends and they seem to mob pretty well. My question is, Will this build work well later in the game, say in Thunderhead Keep and the later missions? I currently have 16 death magic, and my skill bar is:
Rotting Flesh
Deathly Swarm
Verata's sacrifice
Blood of the Master
Taste of Death
Animate Bone Horror
Animate Bone Fiend
Heal Area
Should I keep this skill set? If not, what should I replace? Or should I switch from death entirely? Should I toss in Putrid explosion? Please give me your advice. Thanks in advance.

Unforunately, Mursaats will slaughter your minions because of Spectral Aura. Also the mobs in Southern Shiver peaks are pretty much all 20+lvl, so making your horrors/fiends quite useless.

Go with bone fiends only, and get 20 or so.
No corpses in ring of fire btw

They're still pretty good in the Southern Shiverpeaks (when you aren;t facing Mursaat), but thr RoF is full of Mursaat, which will slaughter your minions.

I've been using a similar build, except I am a necro/elementalist
My friend and I traveled from Draknor's back to Borlis last night with henchies and the build I was using was VERY succesful in both dealing fire damage to mobs, as well as keeping my mob of Bone Fiends alive (I've tried horrors, i've tried minions... fiends are the greatest).
To be a good minion master really ONLY needs two slots
Verata's Sacrifice and Animate Bone Fiend
If the corpses come quick enough, and you always make renewing Verata's your number one priority, this is plenty.
if you want added longevity to your minions, throw in blood of the master OR heal area (if you are a monk secondary)
Taste of Death is also an excellent self-healing spell for a minion master to take along.
What you do with your other 3-4 slots is up to you... Like I said, I use fire magic in conjunction with glyphs of lesser and greater energy. What you do is up to you.
This build is no doubt PvE only and you will die miserably in the arena. You'll also have to change to adapt to corpseless areas.

Well, few corpses. There are the Mursaat, they leave corpses, and the Imps. And a few other things IIRC, like the spider-type things. But limited corpse availability certainly doesn't help the poor Death Necro.

I'd use bone horrors instead of fiends. Lower Energy cost + Body Blocking is always nice.
