Monk Primary - Skills
With my e/mo, i found i was able to pick up monk skills very easily, and early on in the game - for instance, resurrect and heal other i got from the skills trainer in ascalon. With my mo/me, however, i was amazed to find that heal other, for instance, can't be obtained much before lion's arch (or possibly a mission just before, but even so). It seems a bit odd that a monk primary should have access to much fewer skills for much of the game as a monk secondary.
However, this set me thinking about how much better a healer, therefore, an e/mo would actually make. No.1 - huge energy reserves, and i think that being able to cast so many more spells would easily balance out losing the small heal bonuses one gets from divine favour. And No. 2 of course, for much of the game, you will actually be able to heal more powerfully than primary monks, as you will have access to more spells, and of course more energy to cast them. Am i right? Anyone done this?

Except the first trainer in PreSearing, Primaries and Secondaries can get skills at just the same places, it doesnt make a difference if your a e/mo or mo/me, the monk skills will still be obtainable in all the same places.
And choosing a e/mo over a primary monk for the large energy pool is quite apealing, however, at higher levels, divine favour can add quite allot of extra healing, plus you will also be healing with non healing skills, so for instance, a skill like reversal of fortune will not only give protection but will also heal when cast.
There are also some skill that benefit from having high divine favour such as healing touch, this skill doubles the effect of divine favour. Also, some divine favour skills are great for increasing healing output even more, such as Aura of Faith, without a good level of divine favour these skills are nowhere near as effective as they could be.
And not forgeting that monk primaries probably have the easiest time getting groups.

And you can't use runes on your monk skills when it's a secondary so that's kind of limiting as well.

Trust me, they can't. I had heal other (bought from skill trainer in city) in the post searing ascalon area with my e/mo, and according to all the info i have found on this site, a monk primary can't get it 'till lion's arch with a quest, or from a boss just before that (i think) with the signet. Definitly can't be bought from the ascalon skills guy like i did with my other char. Your other points make sense tho, of course i don't know yet how useful divine favour is at higher levels (only lvl 10 now)

OK, I have no idea how you managed to get heal other from Ascalon City, I checked with a secondary monk and it wasnt there, there are also no records anywhere of thats skill being availible untill LA. From what I found and have seen, Damaris give the quest just outside of LA, that should give the skill for primaries and secondaries. The only trainer that should have the skill is the one in Quarrel Falls. Are you certain you ment the actual skill called "Heal Other".

Maybe the spell was Heal Area. The icons look similar, and the spell output in terms of healing is the same. The difference being Heal Other targets an individual, whereas Heal Area has an AoE that includes baddies...

I don't think Heal Area is at the Ascalon City vender either. And I'm 99.9% sure that Heal Other isn't there, unless something has been changed recently.
Healing Breeze and Orison of Healing are the only heal spells you can get at Ascalon City. both of which are available in pre for primary monks.
Secondary monks must pick up Healing Breeze in Ascalon City, so maybe that's what you're thinking of with your E/Mo.

The only healing you get in pre are breeze and orisons and can be optained in post. There is only one other one and that is area not other as I got it for a trainer at Quarral falls now you can get it outside Lion Arch anyway being Monk primary is better if you want ot be Monk if you want to be Elem/Monk fine but you are an Elementalist and I saw a screenshot with one use boon you can't use boon as elementalist have no Devine favor. There are some great devine favor healing skills look at the skill listings on the main page for more info.
