What if i dont maintain JI all the time like lets say...i cast JI, followed by my preps and then Dual shot, quickshot, penetrating shot, quickshot until JI ends and then i just stick to Quickshot shot, normal shot, quick shot, normal shot?

The poster above me, Eonwe is a very solid and more than reliable source of information...so I advise you to consider his post (or any post for that matter) ...to answer your question, you can try that if you like, but you have to ask yourself just how effective you are...is it worth it to run JI at the cost of knowing you are going to have a downtime where you are simply trying to regain energy? Is your preparation by itself more than sufficient in accomplishing what you are trying to do? Just try it yourself and see which you think is more effective. That's one of the cool things about GW, you get to experiment with many different kinds of builds...

Slightly offtopic, but this build reminds me of the MG in DoD. ie. move to position -> deploy -> open fire -> kill stuff -> over-heat -> move out -> repeat.

I have played with a very similar build some time ago and just to make things more interesting, I put in Marksman's Wager {Elite} to the mix to see what happens. It was fun, but rather poor overall tbh as MW and JI both have a crappy duration.

Just a note: Dual shot while under MW and with 14 exp you get (10+10)=20-(4)=>16 energy in one shot. hows that for energy management :P Havnt got many caster skills unlocked so cant play with it yet properly.

I remember reading that the ranger delay put in after interrupting was considered a bug, and was planning on being fixed to something like you cannot use interrupts only for .75 seconds. Is this not just buffing ranger spike to:
duel shot -> quick shot -> savage shot -> quick shot? Or are they planning on saying you may only move/basic attack? Or was i delusional at the time and it never actually happened?

Umm I dont fully understand your question, but I believe that the quick shot after savage shot wont work. So the spike is limited to dual shot -> quick shot -> savage shot.

I can't believe that nobody has pointed out that a JI ranger should be using a Sundering Horn Bow of Enchanting.

If by Sundering you mean Zealous, then yea.

Why would you state this? Sundering gives you a 10% chance at best to get your +10% Armor Penetration bonus...I'd rather take Zealous or Vampiric over Sundering.

Hmmm...would a "of enchanting" bow...be a better choice compared to a "of marksmanship" bow?
Also..i think a flatbow would be a better choice if you're running Rtw and Fw.., but i think hornbows do give penetration bonus..im not too sure about that

Hornbows has a Natural 10% Armor Penetration with it

but with RTW and FW id use a flatbow as stated

sorry for bringin this thread up again..
ok..ive read a build, http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ight=read+wind (thread 58)that is almost similar to my....and the user said that its energy efficient(well i do agree)
well now that i think about it...ima change my expertise to 14 since it reduces the amt of mana that quickshot requires to 2

I have a problem choosing skills and here is a template that ive decided on

Quick Shot(E)
Favourable Winds
Read The Wind
Tiger's Fury
Judges Insights
-
-
-

now..im not sure what other 3 skills i should bring..i was thinking about savage and penetrating and im not sure which i should bring...
can anybody suggest any skills?

First, having Expertise @ 14 is the wrong breakpoint for reducing 5 Energy skills to 2...the correct Expertise breakpoint is 13. For future reference, please consult this table: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...sts-id1154.php

Secondly there is a current bug with Favorable Winds + Read the Wind. I'm not certain how this bug would react under Judge's Insight, but I would guess that it would still be broken. Here's a link to information on this bug (thanks to Id0l, Batou of Nine, Eowne, & others for taking time to work the testing out): http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=77349

With FW + RtW stack bug in mind, I would drop FW...so that leaves you with 5 skills (4 + 1 Res Sig). With any Quickshot build, I really like Savage Shot as a followup and Dual Shot or Penetrating Shot as lead attack...but still since you're running JI, you might be way too spread out in your attributes...you could always go with 2 Superior Runes (Marks + Expertise), which is what I do sometimes running Quickshot...these are just my thoughts, but like I've always said, test it out yourself and see what works...consider your downtimes, and how long it takes to activate & how energy efficient is to run JI & RtW & TF all at the same time.
