even with the rank 3 iway u still get the noobs.. hence does who go nuts when i say put in whirling defense and either kick barb or flame..
1) whirling helps you vs warrios vs ranger spike vs any physical damage
2) i know u cant stack the 2 stances
3) whirling is only used when taking physical damage
last night.. i made a group.. kicked out all ppl who didnt follow my build..finnally got everything settled..won every battle to HOH..so that was a build up of fame.
but ya IWAY is the way to go for fame farming, beware of the unskilled iways.

Perhaps they aren't all guilds, but see what builds these teams are running. The first two win a LOT.

You don't think Your Math Teacher [MATH] Wins alot?

I don't think he thought [MATH] was worth mentioning, since they play IWAY, and therefore are not playing a build worth mentioning.

IWAY has evolved a bit, but still laughable.
Spike teams are less and less because everyone is carrying fertile/symbiosis and after a few early kills by spikes can wrestle control of them
Surge is back bigger and better than ever which I kinda like.
Balanced - yeah sort of. The nuker is around a lot because of alter strategies.
All in all I think the builds of the good teams now are quit good and A-net's rebalancing of the game has been positive.

Yep, balanced teams, or teams with good balance and a great variety of counters plus their own unique niche, seem to be doing very well in Tombs lately.
One of the Euro teams has been doing really well in the afternoons - Swedish Saviors or something (that's not right I know) - I haven't run into them but would be interested to hear what build they are running.

the last time i fought with Nyog in tombs we fought them running a pretty decent massive-degen build. as for WN, we tend to lean more towards balanced builds and every now-and-then we'll go towards ranger spike (most of us are pretty sick of it :P). we're trying to shake off the rep we got for running IWAY >.< WE DONT RUN IWAY ANY MORE come on guys lol.

I held halls over 10 times recently using a balanced spike ... so I'm not really sure what you guys mean. My spike group, being a balanced spike, was prepared to handle with a spirit spammer. And the infuse... you target him whenever possible. Their prot monk won't be able to help with prot spirit with my own group has 3-5 enchant removals.
Anyway, I would not recommend ranger spike for a non ranked group. The point of ranger spike is to drop an enemy in less than 2 seconds, not to randomly shoot arrows as most non ranked groups will do.
For rank 0-2 group, IWAY is easiest fame if you play it properly (with spirits unlocked lol), but you can try balance build if you want.
One random balance build:
2 heal monk (1 infuse)
1 active prot monk
2 surge/enery burn/sig of weariness mesmer (it may be hard to find a decent non ranked mes that knows when to cast the energy denials..)
2 tiger's fury axe warriors
1 earth ele (quake, as, wards)
if you find competent surge mesmers, the other team should slowly drop since their heal monks will only have 0-4 energy

Standard pug build ive ran and held for approx 20 times in last 2 days:
2 mesmers (illusion, migrane covered by malaise/phantasm)
1 warrior (tigers fury)
1 elementist (earth or fire, i prefer earth)
1 necromancer (spiteful, Mark of pain etc.)
1 Heal monk (spellbraker & heal party)
1 Heal monk (Word of healing & another heal party)
1 Prot monk ( Restore conditions/Martyr depending on how good they are)
No offence to lower ranks but it probably will not work with other low ranks as most have limited experience with iway & spike.
As for this guy from math, if you want respect make your own builds as my guild always do, dont claim you are good winning with one big fat lame build.
