Default Immolate! to the max

I just had a quick question about immolate. If you have 16 in fire magic (12 att. points + 3 from superior rune + 1 from hat), is it possible to have the "on fire" time to be 4 seconds instead of 3 seconds.

Also, what if you used glyph of elemental power to add +2 to fire, then would it work? (Although that would waste a skill slot IMO)

good question i wondered that not long ago.

but if you want your enemy to be set on fire for more than 3 sec, you may use mind burn. Its a immolation with higher damage and longer duration ( burning )

flaw - cost 5 more mana =|

I plan to use glyph of energy(elite), so I won't be able to use mind burn(elite) (besides I don't like to use spells that cause exhaustion ).

Yeah, ele power glyph will pull it up to 4 seconds. If you use Glyph of Elemental Power, it'll actually change all of the values of your elemental skills in the skill bar to look at before using them. You could grab a skill you want to see how it'd be affected by 2 more ranks, run out into the wilderness, and check right outside yourself for any skill by using the glyph and the looking at the bar. Mark of Rodgort can also achieve burning of 4 seconds in that manner, I believe.

I am pretty sure just getting it to 16 give 4 sec burn... since 12 fire = 3 sec then 12/3=4 so every 4 in fire give you 1 sec...

that is just my guess.

I'm skeptical it'd go above 3 seconds. Burn as a condition lasts only 3 seconds.

I love that spell but wish it didn't take THAT many att pts just to get the duration a second or two up.....I don't know how that compares to Poison Length from Rangers or Bleeding from Sever Artery but I think it's on the weaker end.

Default Immolate - On Fire Damage

The Skill Listing says set on fire for 1-3 sec.

What I haven't seen is how much damage being on fire does. Is it the same as the initial damage each second? When I tried this spell, I thought I saw only the initial damage number and nothing after.

The condition "burning" gives 7 pips of health degeneration, which is equivalent to 14 health lost per second. Thus, over 3 seconds, 42 damage....not too shabby....

Yeah, to confirm, at 16, immolate is still only 3 seconds of burning. Haven't tested it with glyph of ele power.

Although there's a very good chance it won't increase, as the same kind of progression exists for both distortion and life siphon, and their health degen and energy/blow stats aren't affected by levels over 12.

I've tested the life siphon one -
skill 1-5 1 pip
skill 6-11 2 pips
skill 12-18 3 pips (18 is as high as I could get with skill 12, rune+3 scar+1 awaken the blood +2)

19 is the next breakpoint for skills that progress like this.

So with 12 + Headgear + Sup Rune + Elem Glyph + weapon/offhand % chance boost, you could hit 4 seconds every once in a while.
