Ranger secondaries and Oath Shot
I've been busy trying to collect all of the Ranger elite skills recently, and I just got ahold of Quick Shot and Oath Shot. I must say, Oath Shot seems like one of the most impressive Ranger skills if you intend to use your secondary. The simple fact that you can resuse spells that normally have long rechages in rapid sucession.
Most people I see running Oath Shot use it for trapper builds, and that makes me just a little sad. Just think of what it can do with Glyph of Sacrifice or Glyph of Lesser Energy. Or, for those Energy Denial Rangers, why not run it with Energy Tap and Debilitating Shot, easily stealing 40 mana in less than 10 seconds.
Since you no longer get exp from the arenas I've been short on refund points to mess with all the new elites I've gotten, but I've done all the secondary change quests so I intend to see what I can find with Oath Shot. In the meanwhile, I wonder what other people use their Oath Shots for (especially concerning your secondary class). Anybody care to share your Oath Shot builds?

The main thing to remember with Oath Shot is that it requires expertise or it probably wont work. That measn you must be a ranger primary. Also, its elite, so you cant combo it with any other elite spells. Anyways here is a totally untested build I thought up expressly for this thread:
Oath Shot {E}
Scourge Healing
Bane Signet
Pacifism
Aegis
Purge Conditions
Shielding Hands
Throw Dirt
11 Protection
10 Smiting
10+1 Expertise
A smattering of abilities sure to annoy the opposing team. Put Scourge Healing on your teams main target, Shielding Hands on the enemies focused targets. Bane signet, throw dirt, and pacify wars and rangers going after your monks. Aegis up as much as possible if energy allows. Purge Conditions when necessary. Basically all of these skills are very good, but are made mediocre by their loooong cooldowns. This is where Oath Shot comes in. Since all the spells besides Aegis are cheap, he shouldnt have too much trouble casting spells, like most rangers do.
He casts a lot of spells, especially for a ranger, but he seems like he would fill many support roles quite nicely. Could be deadly with the right teammates.

Now that's just mean.
I do understand that you need the Ranger primary, but you only need 7 expertise for Oath Shot too have the same accuracy as a normal shot.
You can also carry your bow in your secondary slot and use a wand/off-hand normally. Cast some stuff, switch to your bow (by which point your mana may be below the Ranger's ~30 anyway), useOath Shot, and cast some more (probably switching back to your wand/off-hand). It's not a long-lasting work around, but it will give you a little bit more oomph.

Because you can echo debilitating shot instead, which is more consistant. I've been trying oath shot with traps -sorry.

With the ranger's limited energy/energy regen, and the fact that you'd need 8 in expertise, I don't see oath shot working out with any elementalists or monks. Now if oath shot didn't miss with less than 8 expertise, everyone would be carrying it around.

Since most rangers top their expertise at 14, they're perfectly capable of incorporating oath shot into their builds. As for casters, they'd rather have a wand and foci or staff for the energy, and most don't go ranger secondary anyway.
