W/E Anyone?
Well, i when i wuz a noobie, I had one of the greatest idea: Pyro Tank!!! A Warrior that uses his skills with Lava Font casted seems like a great idea. And with the Warrior buffs, they could use Ward against Foes, or Ward against Elements. Now, My warrior could have range, like flare. Now, some people thinks it is stupid, but some people ( i can tell becuz i play), like the idea and did the same thing i did. So, i want to know what other peoples think .

personally I'm a W/E and I only use Conjure (element) for added dps the rest are warrior abilities and I'm a really good killer/assassin.type with the kind of build I have.
I use sword though.

Its not nessicarily a new idea, but... statistically a W/E with a Conjure and a flame sword, with frenzy, sever gash and warriors cunning, makes for the most damaging class in the game point for point.
My advice is for leveling, use alot of fire spells that are lowest possible cast times,
Inferno, Immolate are 2 good ones, even phoenix isn't a bad one since it bennefits from the close range,
and of course Conjure flame with a fire weapon.
I made it all the way from 1-20 with this build, and it was easy and fast, look at some of my old posts (click on my name and go to view other posts by kalaris) I'm always quick to defend the king of damage the W/E!

Conjure + Sword skills is a great build. It can be fun to throw Mark of Rodgort on there if you can find it, to keep a foe constantly burninating while you hack at them.
In PvE, I think branching out a bit can be good too -- I like to bring Lava Font for softening up crowds, though I may switch to another AoE later. That's pretty useless in PvP, of course, but nice for monster hoardes. I also like Flare here, just for pulling and for finishing off runners. You probably don't want to mix Fire with Earth, though -- you need those skill points, and as a Warrior primary you've got fine armor already.
Once a W/E gets to real PvP at 20, I'm inclined to think there are better choices than Fire. Water is especially nice -- between Conjure Frost, Armor of Mist, and Water Trident, you can have a versatile and very scary fighter.

Yeah Burn is scary... 14dps
I'll prolly go water later, but right now, I just have better firespells...
Actually right now, I am doing the 3 Ascension missions, and I switched to earth to tank for the group
Load up armor of earth, magnetic blade, protection from elements, and you make one rather bad --- tank. I even loaded frenzy to do some damage while the monster wasnt paying attention to me -- its actually fun ..
either way W/E isa versitle character, its a little difficult to play at some points, but all and all it is great.
Also with a Conjure spell, and a Staff with Frenzy you actually make a pretty damn good archer... its sad really =P

i think my w/e build is pretty strong...let me know what u guys think...
Level 20
Strength: 9 +2 (11) (+1 str helm, +1 str rune on legs)
Earth Magic: 8
Sword Skill: 11 +1 (12) (+1 sword rune on boots)
Tactics: 8 +1 (9) (+1 tactics runeon armor)
Full knights set, and minor vigor rune on helm
575 health (+45 health tacs shield)
Skills:
1: Bonettis defense
2: Power attack
3: Flourish
4: Griffons Sweep
5: Sever artery
6: Final Thrust
7: "Watch yourself" (or gash depending on where im going)
8: Ward against melee (or sprint/endure pain for exploring/escaping mobs)
Now im at the last mission, and up till now its been fairly easy, i tank damn well, and i can take down enemies quick with flourish...power attack...griffon slash (if foes have enchants that evade)..or just extra dmg..Flourish..repeat..bonnetis def, to regain the energy, Sever artery..if foe is bleedable... Final thrust for ending attack..
im constantly using these skills during a fight...i take down bosses very quickly most of the time..Critisize me plz trying to see my weaknesses other than hexes/energy removal hexes..TY!

I'm playing a W/E 19 with all points split between earth, sword and strength, and the tanking goes amazing with armour of earth, ward against melee, and endure pain when necessary... usually always the last person in the party to die.
However, when things get ugly, trying to sidestep and run with armour of earth activated is next to impossible... even with sprint you are hobbling along dragging a dozen enemies with you... meanwhile the W/Mo in your party is zipping away from harm's way like a rabbit!
Seriously makes you want to switch from earth to water and take advantage of armour of mist.... :P Basically you have to time your retreats based on the expiration of armour of earth... else once activated you have to be committed to slugging it out for a while... :P

eh with Armor of earth at Earth 10 I don't really notice the speed problem (its only 24%)
but I do see where you are comming from...
My stance... is I'll never run =P screw that I'm staying and Dying.
As for Build Critque XxSwOrDxX
The only thing I can see. is that you don't use a whole lot of your /E -side, matter of fact all your sub-ins are warrior, so maybe you might wanna rethink your secondary choice? or just drop all the earth and go all tactics =P

Kalaris, actually my earth is 10, but i have enough problems running away even when my speed penalty is 0%, much less 25%. I'm only jealous because I play with a lot of good W/Mo and they all appear to the be ultimate survivalists, retreating any time they want, to use Sprint, run a few circles and recover before rushing back into the fray :P

I've been trying to build a good W/E with earth magic but the only thing that sux is how do you heal? If you don't have a decent monk in your party, PvE or PvP, you can still die if you get mobbed. Healing signet sux cause of the 2 second cast time and double damage during that.

Simple Answer: you don't.
Earth Defense is a terrible Idea in PvP unless you are using all group spells like ward element and ward melee , as most people tend to ignore the warriors and go for squishier targets,
in non PvP you really need a Monk in everything you do or at least someone with Monk secondary... the Earth Tank makes a better tank then the Monk tank because it takes advantage of the fact that someone will be healing it, if both the monk and the warrior are healing the warrior, who's doing damage =P (yeah prolly that ranger over there, but still)
PvP W/E Hammer and Earthmagic Knockdowns all the way.

I always use this tactic for crowd killing with my axe/fire W/E....Use Glyph of Lesser Energy, Fire Storm from far, run up, Lava Font, Cyclone axe, hack, hack, Lava Font, Cyclone Axe, clean up with adrenal skills. I can't wait until I have some nicer Elem. skills...but this is working right now. I can't wait for Conjure Flame, then my Fiery Chaos Axe will rain hell on my enemy's!

I use a W/E for PvP and have determined it's not effective. The extra damage is great, yeah. I use axes (cleave) and water (icy chaos axe). The problem is in a good PvP group you'll have a prot monk or two, and they'll be running enchants on you. When you use Conjure *element* it kills that enchant. Yeah you can always get re-enchanted, but in the heat of PvP it's not always as fast as you'd like. To me the extra 3-10 (depending on what I'm hitting) isn't worth the loss of protection and healing enchantments.

I play a W/E. For PvP water magic has some nice slowing spell and a speed spell. As a warrior I like my opponents not to run away. And yes I know warriors already have a speed and a slow, but I like more.
