Default Help: Just changed from Mo/R --> Mo/E. What skills do I need?

Ok, so I have 26 skill points to burn (yay!), but I don't want to waste them, since there's still a number of Monk skills I plan on buying/capturing.

I was getting tired of Mo/R. I was planning to do lots of disruption, but it didn't work out the way I intended. So, I changed to Mo/E.

I discovered I can't go back and do all the Elemental quests. For some reason, when I go to places with skill quests, there's nothing there. So, it appears I need to decide exactly which skills I really want, before I go out and buy them.

Should I be focused on Earth skills? I don't care for many of the Monk protection skills, so maybe these would fill in.

Or, should I focus on fire? This seems to be very popular, but many of the smite spells I currently have (Balth. Aura) already give me everything I need for soloing, and in groups, I usually just end up healing/protecting anyway.

Or, should I focus on one of the other attributes?

I've never played an elementalist before. Which 5 spells do you think are basic enough that every elementalist should have? (I'll probably get started with them first.)

Lastly, I've been told that if I switch back to Mo/R by doing the "Ranger's Path" quest, I'll find all of my old skills there again. Is there any limit to how many times I can switch back and forth?

Thanks for all the help. I suddenly feel like quite a noobie.

If you are a monk, your job is to keep the team alive (smiting monk excluded). So you don't want to waste your energy on other skills. For Mo/E, Earth is definately the best answer. Wards/Armors etc...they all complement your role and help you survive very well.

Ok, which earth skills should I start with? I wish I could try some of them out before I bought them.

you can switch back if you complete the "ranger's Path" quest. you can switch back and forth as many times as you want. and yes you will keep the skills you allready had in your ranger proffession...

but a disrupting mo/r ?? thats just stupid. you want a primary ranger for that.

only thing mo/r would eb usefull for would be a couple of stances to evade or block attacks, and spirits to aid your healing. unless you're a smiting monk, you're not meant to attack
