Go warrior, full hammer, full strength if you want to be a damage dealing tank.
Just my opinion though.

An elementalist is without a doubt the most damaging person in the game (must not confuse this with a tanks.) The ele/mo probably works the best, allowing you to heal yourself when the need arrives (relying on others is pointless). However, the elementalist has the weakest armor in the game. HE IS NOT A FRONT-LINER. Stay away from monsters and bombard them form a distance. If monsters charge you, don't use close-range area-of-effect spells - you'll most likely die. Run. Very soon, they'll give up and attack someone else, and you'll be able to attack other people in peace.
One other thing. An elementalist is only powerful as long as his energy lasts. Be wise with your choice of spells. Casting lots of heavy spells on weak characters is not just showing off, it's plain stupid.
Hope this helps.

it depends on the mobs
if it is a group of axe warriors i hit them to get their attention and when they are by me i have aura going along with healing breeze
they step into the local AOE and i drop a shower on their heads as they arive
10 seconds later i pick up the loot
if nastier i run like ......an elemonk

Welcome to the builds forum. Please take some time to look at the stickies before you create a new post.
Here's one of the main points I'd like to highlight:

It is not a place for people to help you put together your own character.

I understand you are new the the game, and very likely these boards, but the rules apply universally.
If you are thinking about playing an Elementalist and you want a few tips starting out, check out the Elementalist Basics sticky, or go to the Build Directory and look at some builds there to give you an idea of what other people have done. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy playing.
