Default monk/elementalist....will it work?

i made this character mostly for monk, and an elementalist for good measure.
i use healing AND smiting.
so:

healing
smiting
divine favor
3 or 4 points of earth elemental (probably for ward against melee or something like that)

something you may want to know: I like to fight. I like to use AoEs. I like to kill. However, I am aware of other players' health, and i would gladly back off if i'm about to die and/or running out of energy. I dont want to be the steryotpical monk who just stays back and heals. I want to fight and heal and kill.

Does anyone think that this build will work (im gonna play through it anyway)

For PvE, fine.

For PvP, you'll probably be too busy fighting for your life to nuke anything. If not, the other team is incompetent and you will probably win.
