For a Monk Killer, mesmers aren't the best primary. to shut down a monk (i.e. make useless, but not kill) a Mesmer is indeed the best. my favourite secondary to work with this is generally the necro, so that i can do other stuff (such as anti-warrior for instance). there are many ways to shut a monk down, a particularly annoying one being arcane conundrum so they take longer to cast those healing spells. This gives you enough time (if your reflexes are good) to slam a powerblock on one of their healing spells. This kills a primary healing monk dead in the water, as all their healing spells get disabled for 11 secs. Use those eleven seconds to get all your friends to put lots of hurt on the monk. other options: backfire and hex stacking, blackouts etc.

You'll need to go Energy Storage, Air Magic, and Smiting Prayers.

From there, gun for all those 'ignore armor' high damage skills. And life is good
