warrior/monk will get you through the game the fastest due to their ability to run and their role as tank is needed in most missions.

nec/monk minion summoner will do great until the very end where the majority of enemies don't give actual corpses.

monk/anything will get you into a group the fastest as monks are always in demand.

those are just a few of the obvious ones. rangers are easily the hardest class to pve with because until they near lvl 20 they are absolutely terrible. Once they get to lvl 20 and get the 30 extra attribute points they start doing considerably better and are on par with other classes. I'd reccomend against a pet, simply because it can be more of a hassle than a help sometimes as the a.i and pathing is terrible but a ranger/monk will do you well if you wish to travel down that road anyway.

That's quite funny. I'll have to remember that line.

Like above said.. W/Mo or Mo/... Those are the 'easiest' to get through PvE.

I'm a ranger and I'd be surprised if my R/Mo is one of the hardest classes for PvE. If you said Arena battles - maybe. I simply have not had trouble. I have gone where I wanted to go with henchmen and with players and completed every cooperative mission 1st try. In fact, it seems like a good class for PvE, where I can vary skills and help the henchies with some healing yet still do damage.

I also disagree with not taking a pet. I still find that especially in PvE, my pet makes a tremendous difference in the amount of damage I deliver. Even when I don't put points is BeastMastery, she makes a huge difference.

Absolutely terrible is also kind of funny. There were 3 rangers in my group last pm that had 7 straight victories in arena (lv10-15) - I know that is very few - but "absolutely terrible" just doesn't fit IMO.

All the classes are 'good' for run of the mill PvE. However, the best PvE class, IMO, has to be the Monk, with either Warrior or Elementalist secondary. Balthazar's Spirit, Balthazar's Aura, Zealot's Fire, Divine Boon, and a (few) fast self-cast, low energy, spammable is all you need to take out hordes of mobs. I use Divine Spirit (Divine Boon is .25s cast, and has no recharge, and can be cast for 3 en repeatedly for 10s... it's a lot of DPS), Reversal of Fortune, and Shielding Hands (great for mobs that swarm but deal relatively low damage, like Scarabs). Use Glyph of Lesser Energy or Bonetti's Defense for energy management/production.

R/Mo is a good class for PvP, as it's very tough to kill and can deal decent damage. The only problem I have with it is that it's difficult to keep the energy flowing to use the skills that raise your damage to decent levels; especially if you're trying to heal aswell.

I would actually recommend R/Me, going almost pure Ranger, but then utilising Inspiration spells to keep your energy topped up. Hi Expertise + Ether Lord + Serpents Quickness, and you can keep those high damage bow skills running very fast and constant. Going /Me also allows you to use Epidemic, to spead your nasty bow attack conditions (i.e. Apply Poison) onto multiple enemies.

How could anyone get creamed pre-sear? It's ridiculously easy. Gwen could solo it with a broken flute. You can't just charge in swinging though. You have to try to get them a couple at a time. Try to be strategic. Move slowly and stop a lot.

Post-searing is going to have you pulling your hair out. It has that effect on me and I've breezed through pre-searing with about ten characters.
