For those of you who want to upgrade this build when nightfall comes out, here's the skill. Can probably replace the slow moving armor of earth.
Stoneflesh aura: For 5...17 seconds, damage you receive is reduced by 1...25 and you are immune to critical attacks.

For the sole purpose of this build, I got myself this staff and I personally feel it is just PERFECT!
Hale Earth Staff of Enchanting (NF Gold)
HSR (All) 20%
Energy +10
E Dmg 11-22 (req 9)
Health +30
Enchantments +20%
Ins "Have Faith"
Energy +5 (w/ enchanted)
To those of you that don't care much for the 30hp, you can use an "Insightful Staff Head" and have +20 Energy at all times (since this build is one where you are ALWAYS under an enchantment)

Remember the limit of only one elite skill per build.

I'm planning on trying this build sometime, or some kind of Earth magic build, soloing with Kinetic Armor. Just wanna ask some questions...
Is it a pain to keep recasting to keep KA, and are there any skills that can replace it, such as stoneflesh aura and obsidian flesh?
Would Tenais Crystals and Crystal Wave (Proph equivalent) Break aggro, and would it need to be spammed to break aggro?

Right now I'm using my favorite build to farm the insects.. Which is using Dragons Stomp+Aftershock, not a bunch of weak wimpy spells.
Why don't you try that instead of Stone Daggers and Obsidian Flame?

You're handcuffed a little by the need to cast something every 8 seconds or so for Kinetic Armor, but it's not too bad since you're usually casting frequently anyway. If you're running a skill like Stone Daggers, then maintainence is trivial. Even if you aren't, you develop a rhythm pretty quickly.
If you want an alternative, Stoneflesh Aura plus Armor of Earth works quite well and doesn't require as much attention. I would skip on Obsidian Flesh, however, unless you specifically need protection from spells. Also, Stone Striker plus Mantra of Earth is another option. The nice thing about it is that you get two benefits from it, damage reduction and energy. Of course, you need to be a Mesmer secondary, and that means you'd have to change things around.
As far as Teinai's Crystals and Crystal Wave, unfortunately they will cause monsters to break aggro under certain circumstances, regardless if they are being spammed or not. If you are talking about melee creatures, then once their health dips below 50% they will run. However, you can use them without restriction while the creatures' healths are above 50%. If you are talking about ranged creatures, then they will not scatter.

I've been using this build for a week now on the Hydras in Skyward Reach, but was wondering if you guys could suggest another mob-type that's as easy with this build...
(Edit: I'm Tyria-Only)

Earth Attunement -
Lasts 61-62 secs
Gives you 30% + 1 energy back
Elemental Attunement {E} -
Lasts 45 secs . .
Gives you 50%
*(without including the +20% enchantments bonus)

So really, I don't see the point of using Ele Attunement!
You could use Ether Renewal (4 enchants + spammable "Stone Daggers" = AWESOME HP + Energy recovery)
But personally, if you have Factions, I would recommend you get Shockwave as your elite in place of Obsidian Flame. .

Edit:
I tried using Ether Renewal in place of Earth Attunement and the results, although very good, are not very different... If you manage to miss one of the Armor enchants, or Aura of Restoration (healing) then this spell is a life-saver like no other, but as long as you're playing all your enchants, I can't find a single flaw in the build!
Use Aftershock or Tenai's Crystals in place of Obsidiean Flame,
or Earthquake/Aftershock in place of Obsidian Flame/Crystal Wave . .
Really, it doesn't matter!
You could stand there and spam Stone Daggers to kill your foes for all the difference it makes!

Thread Rez ftl but anway, Balth.Spirit is supposed to give adrenaline.
Balthazar's Spirit
While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains adrenaline and Energy after taking damage. (The amount of adrenaline gained increases depending on your rank in Smiting Prayers.)

Balth Spirit IS better however, it gives adrenaline (which is irrelevant but whatever), and it says gain energy and adrenaline after taking DAMAGE. Not Physical or Elemental Damage, but DAMAGE, meaning it also works with chaos damage, holy damage, all the other kinds of damage (with the exception of life stealing) that Essence Bond doesn't cover.

Well, even if you have 12 Smiting Prayers, it still gives a fraction of what a strike of adrenaline is equivalent to. Even though when you have multaple (at least three) people on you, I find it easy to build enough adrenaline for a cost of 4 strikes within seconds.

Having tested this build in a group (Hero/hench) PvE environment out a bit more recently, some things I find that skew the build a bit.
Crystal wave, and it's faction counter-part, ignores armor. Very nice spells to have in this kind of a build. Aftershock does not have this kind of AP, so it's usage is kind of meh, I still want to test out shockwave to see if it has that AP effect. With Crystal wave + it's faction counter-part + aftershock, these 3 deal almost enough damage to take out any level 20 enemies.
Obsidian flame is good to have due to AP effect.
Kinetic armor has problems when the enemies can interrupt. Can't get the spell off sometimes in order to keep kinetic armor up. Putting in something to prevent disruptions can be hard to fit.
Earth Attunement/Elemental Attunement - Earth attunement lasts just a bit longer in case you get interrupted. Earth attunement also returns a little bit less than elemental attunement but it usually lasts long enough for one fight.
For equipment I'm using the earthwand with 20 to recharge and +5 energy < 50 with a +12 energy offhand that's 20/20. (I'm not 100% sure that they stack though.)
