Just to clear up something, THIS WILL NOT WORK IN UNDERWORLD, or at least bladed aatxes. Not only do they scatter, but they can deal the upwards of 300 damage in one hit, so you'd need to get hit 60 times before the damage is actually reduced to 0, and by that time, you are dead. However, on smaller groups, it works beautifully, or wait, is that mending+protective spirit doing the work? If you want to go into the UW, use the standard 55, this build solves all the huge aggro issues that 55 can't.

Hmm if you take the proper route from Granite Citadel to Mineral springs you shouldn't encounter any..

I always skip the first spawn in tascta's demise by waking past the right wall left wallhugging can also work btw.
after that i attack the next group of enemies they shouldn't be to hard but it takes some time, you won''t be able to kill the gnashers however they don't attack.
After that walk straight so that you leave the big group of dolyak masters and heretics to the left.
You should see 2 bridges,skip the first one and try to walk over the second one when the patrol won't block you.
There is a small corner also on the right after the bridge where you can stand to be save from both nearby patrols.
(sometimes the dolyaks will follow but won't attack)
now walk further if the siege ice golems+ heretic patrol is out of your path.
with the last part before mineral spings you have 2 options of spawns:
1:you can clearly run trough but there is a spawn in front of the portal, wait till it moves out of the way and enter.
2:the way is blocked with heretics and other nasty stuff, just walk as far as you can with some luck you activate the res shrine closer to the portal and you can move on.

That should help you on getting there

You have Prot spirit on you wich reduces dmg to 10% of your live and reduce that dmg by 5 for everytiem your hit.
if youre live is 180 it's 18 (without shield of abs) 13(with the first hit on shield of abs), 8, 5, 0 etc....

I've tried this build in UW and its not bad... but u gotta get used to it. I was trying it using: protspirit, SoA, symp visage, arcane echo, SoJ, blessed aura, balths spirit, mending. It went ok... but there still is some work to do. I bring 3 head tats... 1 divine, 1 healing, and 1 smiting... to keep energy regen at +3, the aura at 32% (for a little bit of time to play with), and the smiting to boost SoJ. Problem... interrupts casting symp visage the second time and interrupts on SoA. I know, I know.... I could bring mantra to stop being interrupted but I'm trying to speed up the underworld runs and I wanted echo to have an almost continuous SoJ. Bottom line is that it wasn't safe enough.
So I went Mo/W and changed symp visage for bonettis and arcane echo for sig. of mystic wrath. The bonettis really helps not get interrupted and with energy management which I have found to be a problem when u only get 2 aatxes and with the octos who leech like nobody's business. The sig is nice for the break away enemy who comes back after u kill one of the three that stays (130 dam.) and it doesnt use energy.
All in all, I am sure this build has a future (if it isnt nerfed). I am going in solo for now as duos dont get the job done that much faster these days. If there are any other solo 55/ex 605/135 monks out there who dedicate their days to UW and have made any other breakthroughs with this build, POST THEM. I'm only worried about cutting time off the runs and getting faster and not sharing the ectos if possible.

Is there a particular reason to have DF 12? I have used DF 9 to get +25% from aura. With smiting at 16 SoJ both lasts longer and deals more damage while the SoA lasts 10.5s which- or so I have noticed- is adequate to keep you alive. Moreover I swapped that offhand for Shen's Censure because I felt I didn't need the extra life nor the energy but the smiting buff on the other hand has been very welcome.

Anyways great build and thanks for sharing it with us muggles.

I find this strange.. i never solo uw for the sheer bordom factor.. but i have been duoing it a few times with my dual visage build i posted in the original opp..

i had the ranger bring traps. along with eoe and famine.

both times i made it through withought a hitch.. never died.. never got intterupted..

what i did was just keep the aggro groups smaller.. 3-4.. it sounds slow but actually goes at a pretty good pace.

you just have to throw the visages on yourself to prevent the attax from droppin on the ranger..

now as for smite... i pulled like 20 smite, the whole time the ranger threw down traps.. then his eoe then his famine.. then i threw up 1 visage .. they took themselves down to about half life.. then of course scatterd.. but 4 stayed on me to die from the visage... and about 6 went and enjoyed a nice death on the ranger traps.. the leftover smite just dropped dead from the eoe bomb..

hope this helps with your uw woes.. i really do not intent to find a solo uw build for i have no intrest in it.

Interesting, so this has an effect AFTER protective spirit. I though it was like shielding hands, in which it reduces the base damage after armor and before pure damage reduction.

you were right about running with famine rangerin UW... but switch to kepkhets staff and u get the recharge, energy, enchants and casting time bonus for SoA. its as easy as the 605 that i buried last week. DONT NERF THIS!!!

Actualy, after the update shielding hands' dmg reduction is applied AFTER prot sprit and with a 50% skill recharge reduction from quickening zephir can be mantained forever wich makes UW runs possible with famine partner.
